With the new rifle zones across Minnesota how many of yall are switching from Slug to Rifle?

Hey guys.

I’ve got a Spyderco PM2 in maxamet and when I’m sharpening the apex always chips or tears off with the burr. I’ve tried extremely light pressure with coarse and medium, edge trailing stroke’s instead of leading and used both diamond and CBN.

Is there something I’m doing wrong or is my best bet to completely re grind it? I know some of the higher HRC steels can be fatigued from factory belt sharpening.

Using a TSPROF pioneer GE max for sharpening.
