Cities to explore

I’ll be working remotely in Paris in September. I am looking for recommendations of other cities/ regions to see during my stay. I'm late 20's

I’ve already been to Nice and the Provence. I'm interested in Bordeaux, Lyon and maybe Montpellier. Also very interested in Brittany. I'm OK with both big cities and small villages! Beaches/mountains/countryside are all fine too. Just want to see and experience something different from Paris. I'll be solo and my BF will join me for a weekend.

Suggestions on a Month in September

I have been approved to work remotely in Paris for the month of September. I spent a week here last September, and covered most of the sites (except Versailles and D'Orsay). I did a lot of research before I left, and figured out how to use the metro etc - had a very easy time getting around.

I will work in the afternoon to evening, but I wanted some suggestions on how to spend my mornings and weekends. I want to get the feeling I 'live' in Paris. I want to explore lesser known neighborhoods outside the center, and take a few day trips & weekend trips.

I am not a French speaker, and I am considering taking a basic course but in my experience most people speak English if you need assistance. I have also heard service workers will just switch to English if you try French. Worth it for very basic phrases?

all suggestions are appreciated!

Mexico City + Yucatan Beaches

Planning a trip to Mexico in December. Ideally 2-3 nights in CDMX and then to the beach in the Yucatan. Interested in a day trip to Merida. What beach base is best? We prefer a local, low key vibe where we can stay at a nice hotel on the beach. Don't need it to feel too 'americanized'. Any ideas? Was thinking Sisal but don't know anything about it.

Subletting in Paris - Passport

Hi, I found an apartment sublet through Facebook from one of those 'English Speakers of Paris' pages.

The woman from whom I will sublease wants me to send her my passport before she provides a rental agreement. I only plan to sublet for one month.

I met her via Zoom, and from her socials she runs her own business in the arts space (singing/acting etc). She seems like a normal person. The sublet is 'under the table' if you will...

Has anyone had experience doing this before? I know providing a passport is common in an Airbnb or vacation rental there, but I don't know why she would need a passport specifically, is there any other form of ID I can provide?

Coming from the US.

Bordeaux in September for remote work

How is Bordeaux weather/vibe in September? I am thinking of booking a week there while I work remotely as part of a larger trip. I have been to Paris/Aix/Nice and greater south of France and enjoyed it.

I'm looking for something laid back/city-ish but with enough energy/things to do solo. I'll be in my airbnb in the afternoons working, so my activities will be in the AM. I would visit a winery/maybe Biarritz on the weekend.

Any good towns outside of Bordeaux that are worth visiting for a long term stay?

I'm late 20's F.

My other option would be Lyon. Any input is appreciated!

Hi all — I have 4 years of analytics experience at a Fortune 500 medical device company and I’m looking to transition into NYC-based data/ops roles in tech or health-tech (obviously open to any sector).

Most roles I see seem to prefer consulting or IB backgrounds. How realistic is it to break in without that experience, and would a master’s meaningfully help? I understand the job market is in disarray, so I guess my question applies to NYC jobs in general. I understand it is uber competitive right now. Any advice appreciated.
