Are you serious? GoDaddy domain parking pages
After years of creating and managing dozens of websites, I’ve never chosen to work with GoDaddy. A couple of my clients have bought their domains there, though.
One of them recently had a renewal issue because their credit card expired (entirely their fault, they didn't see the email notifications).
What completely baffled me was the domain parking page GoDaddy showed in the meantime.
So you're telling me that a person or business hosts their domain on GoDaddy, hits the smallest hiccup, and this is the page GoDaddy decides to put in front of the world? It looks like one of those sketchy popups you’d get after clicking on a spammy “miracle cure” ad.
We solved the issue yesterday, but I’m still dumbfounded that this is how one of the biggest domain and hosting companies in the world chooses to present itself when something goes wrong.
Renewing the domain was also riddled with unethical UI/UX tricks designed to push you into buying so‑called “security upgrades.”
Absolute dogshit company. I guess their stupid name really is the most honest part of the whole business.
