Confused about bleeding & cramps

Hi everyone,

I'm feeling a little worried and confused tonight.

I'm cycle day 30, 11 DPO.

On day 26, there was some pale pink blood when I wiped in the morning. The next day it was brown, and a little heavier, and was there first thing in the morning and last thing at night. Yesterday I had a tiny amount that wasn't very noticeable but I had quite prominent cramping on my left ovary for a couple of hours last night. No blood this morning, but I went to the toilet about an hour ago and there was more brown/red blood, this time with a couple of very small string-like clots. Since then both of my ovaries have been aching though the bleeding has again stopped.

My lower back has been burning today and I've been tired.

We had a ruptured ectopic pregnancy in November 2025 and all of these symptoms (minus the cramps and possible clots) reflect what I experienced then before we knew anything was wrong, so i'm obviously now hyper sensitive to any signs.

I'm also very aware that this is the time when my period is due, and it could simply be presenting itself differently this month.

I don't really know what to do. Should I take a test tomorrow? Should I call the GP? Or should I wait a few more days to see if this is actually just my period?

Has anyone experienced something similar?

Palma de Mallorca

Hello

We've booked a very last minute trip to Palma city to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary this weekend.

I'm struggling to find original recommendations which aren't trending all over social media and we're not interested in spending our time in places just because they're viral on TikTok.

Do you have any suggestions for where to eat / what do do, to celebrate this very special occasion? We're looking for romantic, beautiful, quintessentially Mediterranean and with actual quality behind it.

I should mention we won't have a car, and aren't keen on driving but don't mind getting a bus/taxi if needed.

Thanks in advance.

Restaurant Rec - 5th Arr.

We're heading to Paris this weekend to celebrate my birthday. Staying in the 5th (Latin Q).

Our preferred restaurant (Le Perraudin) is unfortunately closed for their annual vacation so I'm looking for some last minute help: If you only had 1 evening to eat dinner in Paris near to where we're based, where would it be?

Ideally we're hoping for somewhere with a romatic atmosphere, delicious food (cuisine doesn't matter) and extra points if the serve amazing creme brulee!

Travel Insurance Claim Rejection

Hi all,

I purchased AXA Premier Plus single trip travel insurance in February for our dream holiday to the Maldives in March.

As a 30 something year old, fully fit, active and healthy couple; I honestly thought we had nothing to declare when buying the policy.

In the 72 hours before our flight, I started to feel a bit of pressure in my head (you know that feeling, when you bend down and you feel like it might explode?) Genuinely didn't think it was anything to worry about beyond how cabin pressure might make it worse, so I asked the pharmacist if I could buy some Sudafed. To my shock she said no, and then things escalated beyond my wildest dreams at that point. Very long story short, I ended up having an emergency lumbar puncture in A&E on the evening before my flight.

All of the numerous tests they did on me came back clear and I was approved to fly. However, I took unwell at the airport because, as it turns out, I had begun to leak spinal fluid. I couldn't sit upright without excruitiating pain and vomiting. The airport medic had to support me and BA agreed that it was not a good idea for me to fly.

We make the devastating decision to go home without boarding the plane. My husband rescheduled the flight for the next day, hoping an extra 24 hours of rest was all i'd need... but unfortunately I only got worse, and we had to cancel entirely.

I had to visit A&E twice more over the course of the next week because, frankly, I've never been more ill in my life. Eventually I was given the final diagnosis of a low pressure headache as a consequence of the lumbar puncture.

Unfortunately, because I've been to the GP about headaches/migraines over the past 12 months and been prescribed medication; AXA have rejected my claim because I hadn't disclosed that to them.

My argument is that my GP visits related to one-time issues, rather than any underlying condition, and the medication prescribed was 'as required' not to be taken on an ongoing basis. In addition, I have a doctors letter confirming that the headache on the day of my flight was directly related to an uncommon side effect of an emergency lumbar puncture. From my perspective it's therefore totally irrelevant that I've seen the GP about other headaches in the past. However, I do appreciate how this looks on paper - I am known to experience headaches, I had a pressure headache the week of my flight for which I sought medical assistance, which resulted in a procedure causing yet another headache. I'm not sure if they'll care that these are all different types (hormonal, potentially sinus pressure, procedure side effect). Does anyone have a view on this?

I understand from doing some research that you shouldn't be penalised for non-disclosure of something if there was no intent to withhold. Is that right? Because that is absolutely my situation. I don't have any condition, as far as I am concerned, and my medical evidence supports that (other than perhaps me being given a repeat prescription for a migraine medication - which is used only on an 'as required' basis, but I don't believe that's written down anywhere).

As you can imagine, not being refunded for an all inclusive trip to the Maldives, is a huge blow. While not relevant to my claim, I want to share that the reason for the trip was because I had a ruptured ectopic pregnancy in October. Last year was the hardest of our lives, and we so desperately needed to be dropped on a desert island to forget our worries for a week. We have never spent that kind of money on a holiday before and after this experience we never will again, despite hoping that we could rebook once the finances got sorted.

Any advice, or guidance on what to do next with AXA would be appreciated. How can we challenge this? Is it worth getting a lawyer involved?

Thanks in advance!
