Aerial roots on propagated Thanksgiving cactus question

I recently propagated a few pieces of a Thanksgiving cactus that was sent to my Mom’s funeral last December. They seem to be doing well, but have started putting out these aerial roots. Did I propagate them incorrectly? Right now I have them on my front porch where they receive bright, indirect sunlight. It’s also been very hot and humid. I have been trying to keep the soil damp but not wet. Should I have done or be doing something different? Thanks!’

Another day, another beautiful orchid!

Went to Lowes today, and it seems I can’t leave without bonding with an orchid! Of course, I had to bring her home! A beautiful oncidium Dancing Lady! She has 4 pseudo bulbs!

Advice please—my orchid is tilting

I repotted my orchid about one and a half to two months ago, after its flowers died. It’s in a bark mix. I apparently didn’t anchor it very well and it’s now listing to the side. Should I repot or just leave it? Thank you for any and all advice! I’m learning so much from this group!

Came home to new growth and flowers!

So excited—I’ve been gone for 11 days and came back to a new root and leaf on my Mother’s Day orchid! It’s in a self-watering container, so I thought it would die pretty quickly, but it still has 5 beautiful flowers and a new root and leaf

Also my white front porch phal has started flowering!! Maybe I should leave more often!😂

Terminal Spike??

My questions are never ending it seems! This is my beautiful Cooktown dendrobium that I recently purchased. But is that a terminal spike the flowers are on? Does this mean that stalk won’t grow more leaves or produce more flowers? I’m learning so much and appreciate all the all the advice and knowledge!!

New spike?

I’ve been keeping an eagle eye on my new phal and have been watching it change daily! Would this be a new spike coming out of the big, original spike? Or another bloom? Exciting either way!! Edit: looking at the growth on the left of the spike. Thanks!!

Beautiful New Orchid—I’m Obsessed!

Went to Lowe’s today “just to look around.” Ha! I saw this dendrobium and fell in love! Isn’t it beautiful?? I looked it up, and it’s a Cooktown orchid. Now to learn how to care for it!

Grow Light Spectral Mode Settings question

I know this is probably a dumb question but, but I purchased an inexpensive grow light (picture attached). It is a full spectrum light. It says there are 3 spectral mode settings, but it doesn’t specify which of those settings is what. How do I (or can I, even) decide which is best for my orchid? Each time I press the button, the light color changes, I’m just not sure what to put it on.

Question about new orchid purchase

I purchased this orchid from a local plant store near me. It’s been kept outside in a greenhouse type environment. It has one long spike that looks like will have blooms on it. Two questions: 1)Should I continue to keep it outside until after it blooms? The outside temp here is upper 80’s to upper 90’s with nighttime temps in the 70’s and my house temps are 74F daytime and 67F at night; and 2)Should I go ahead and repot now or wait until the flowers have come and gone?

I’m learning, so I appreciate any advice!

Pot too big?

I recently repotted my orchid and purchased the only pot I could find locally. I think it may be too big, for one thing. My orchid was in a 3 in pot, and this one is 5, and about 6 in tall. I’ve planted it in orchid bark, and the outer roots that I can see seem to be drying out in 2-3 days. I’m an orchid newbie. Thoughts? Thanks!
