Strange movie I saw when I was a kid

Hello, I'm trying to find the name of a movie I watched when I was a kid. It was either an 80s or 90s film, and I can remember a detail and three scenes from it.

-The main character gets attacked by something and gets infected. This infection causes things he touches to disintegrate other living things.

-A stop motion spider jumps onto his frying pan and disintegrates.

-A man uses an outhouse and disintegrates.

-A bunch of people are standing around a sidewalk praying, and a scientist comes along and places a baby chick on the sidewalk and, you guessed it, it disintegrates.

Cael O'Donnell appreciation thread

He just wants to hang out at home, have a beer, and watch his stories, but his loser son has to go off and steal a state-of-the-art military spacefighter.

Daydreaming about the Star Fox sequel

Been thinking about Star Fox '26, Star Fox 2, and Star Fox Adventures, and the path forward for the series. I've read a lot of your interesting ideas and hopes for the next game, and now I'd like to share mine.

Just to lay the groundwork for what I want, I'm choosing to imagine a whole new game rather than a remake of SF2 or SFA, but I am going to lift elements from both, particularly SFA. I'm also going the route of arcade style corridor shooter.

I want the next game to have not one branching campaign, but three. The separate campaigns that dovetail together on the planet Sauria. Those campaigns would be:

Krystal, Faye, and Miyu: They're levels would mostly consist of close to the ground flights via the local fauna and a helicopter-like assault craft.

Star Fox: Arwings, the Landmaster, The Blue Marine (it deserves a redemption chance), and now the Walkers (I'd probably decouple them from the Arwings, I've never really liked the transformation aspect).

Star Wolf: Wolf and Leon quickly upgrade from a space big rig to a pair of Shogun that can transform into aerospace fighters.

Here is the way too long prologue I wrote for it.

---------
In the wake of the Lylat Wars, a large contingent of loyal Venomian soldiers and scientists, led by Andrew Oikonny, have fled the hostile planet and seemingly vanished without a trace.

A year later…

Two Cornerian pilots stationed on a remote satellite base, Faye Spaniel and Miyu Swift, have been plagued for months by the same nightmare: An alien jungle world being devastated by machines ruthlessly harvesting its natural resources, and a blue fox pleading for help. The two of them bring this to their superiors, who dismiss it as a side effect of time spent on the edge of the system. Determined to investigate for themselves, Faye and Miyu use the stars from their shared dream to locate Sauria, a planet unknown to most in the Lylat system due to its strange orbit. As the pair fly over Sauria’s moon, they are attacked by Venomian Invaders…

Star Fox has spent the last year on the trail of the scattered former members of Star Wolf. They are closing in on Pigma Dengar, who has set himself up as the leader of a large band of space pirates. As Pigma’s pirates conduct a raid on a busy shipping lane near MacBeth, Star Fox arrives to give chase resulting in the arrest of Pigma and the destruction of his pirate fleet…

Wolf O’Donnell has not been having a good time. Star Wolf is no more, and he has been forced to lie low with Leon Powalski. The two have been taking jobs as space truckers. Worse, his ego is in shambles after the multiple defeats at the hands of his rival, Fox McCloud…

Back aboard the Great Fox, ROB gets a backchannel call from Maurice Orenji, Faye and Miyu’s commanding officer. His outpost received an SOS from the pilots, and he wants Star Fox to covertly rescue them (and their careers). The only problem is they don’t know where to look. Pigma, hearing the SOS message, realizes Faye and Miyu have discovered Sauria. He tells Peppy that Sauria was a planet Andross had discovered while on Venom, and had set up a small observational base in order to study the lifeforms there. He also tells Peppy that it’s likely Andrew is there, and that he’ll take them to Sauria in exchange for not being turned over to Corneria just yet. The crew is against it, none more so than Peppy, but Fox sees the opportunity to get Andrew Oikonny and agrees. Unbeknownst to Star Fox, Pigma has hacked into an access panel and sent a message out via its comms…

On the surface of Sauria, Faye and Miyu have crash landed. As Venomian forces close in, they are rescued by the blue fox from their dream. She introduces herself as Krystal, and the three of them manage to escape in an enemy hovercraft. Krystal tells the pair that about a year ago, a large fleet descended from the stars and enslaved the various Saurian tribes, putting them to work building factories. Krystal reached out for help using her psychic ability, which was the source of Faye and Miyu's nightmares.

We learn that Scales, the leader of the Sharpclaw tribe, quickly ingratiated himself to the invading force and Andrew, being who he is, quickly fell under his sway. Scales was elevated to General Scales and has been running much of the day to day operation. The science is beyond Scales, but he understands power and control, and has ramped up production of weaponry. Many in the Sharpclaw tribe have taken well to training with the Venomian weapons and vehicles. Furthermore, General Scales has had little trouble winning over the loyalists with his ruthless, effective leadership.

A space freighter blazes through Sector X on route to a mining colony. A large Eagle Slap mural is painted on the side. Inside the cab are a haggard wolf and his quiet chameleon copilot. They’re making good time on their run, and their boss, already a fan of the pair, will be happy. Maybe they’ll get to trade up to a nicer route after this run. Wolf realizes he’s settling into this life easier than he thought. It isn’t meant to be, however. An untraceable flash comm disrupts the peace and quiet of the cab. It’s Pigma. He says he’s captive aboard the Great Fox, and that Star Fox is going to be very vulnerable where they are headed. He wants rescued, and tells Wolf that if he and Leon want back in the game, they’ll never have a better chance. He sends them the coordinates to a couple of untested transforming Shogun prototypes stashed in Meteo. Seconds later, cans of Eagle Slap float through space as a now freightless truck cab rockets toward the Lylat’s asteroid belt…

Folks, we've been lied to.

The Great Fox isn't a fox at all, It's some kind of waterfowl.

Probably a goose.

What is the optimal burn length for boost?

If I want to get the best ratio of speed to recharge time, how much of the G-Diffuser bar do I empty while boosting?

Challenges Accomplished

I got the feeling during some of these that they weren't designed with the N64 controller in mind.
