1 month with the Xiaomi 17T , here's my review.
Bought the Xiaomi 17T one month ago and I would like to share my expierence with it and give it a honest review.
Design and build quality(8/10)
The Xiaomi 17t comes with a plastic frame and a fiberglass back aswell as gorilla glass 7i, the plastic doesn't look nor feel cheap like Poco phones. The design is also not bad. The phone is very comfortable for me and is small enough so I could reach the whole keyboard one handed but large enough where I can touch everything without touching another thing. The only complaint I could have is that it doesn't have a aluminum frame.
Software and UI (7/10)
Xiaomi hyperos 3 has it's issues, but none that really impact user expierence unless your nitpicking. UI is nice , smooth and good, customization of the UI could be with more options. But that doesn't concern me, since there are thousands of themes for hyperos 3. The complaint here is that hyperos isn't as customizable as I'd like and that the software could be more optimized, but hoping that hyperos 4 will be better.
Performance and thermal regulation (7/10)
I would give it a 8/10 if it didn't like to run warm on moderately heavy use. Such as downloading a app, using the camera or doing all with cellular data instead of wifi. gaming performance is as good as can be expected from the 8500 ultra. it won't run all games at the highest possible frame rate but will handle anything you throw at it. And again heat is a problem that needs a solvent for this phone, it could be that it's a silicone case or just Xiaomi needs to do better with optimizing to they're phones. But everyday usage is smooth and snappy. No problems there.
Display and audio quality (9/10)
A very nice display that is compact enough to comfortable, has Xiaomi visioncare, 120hz and high bitrate colors, aswell as 460 ppi ,which i find very nice. Colors are nice and going out on a bright day outside, the display gets pretty bright and is easy to see. No complaints here.
The speakers are also pretty good, getting very loud and not distorting whatsoever while being at such a high volume. Speakers quality is on par with flagships.
There's really nothing to complain about here no problem here whatsoever.
Camera and video quality (9/10)
By far my favorite part of this phone , excellent portraits, excellent day photography and exceptional astrophotography for the price. Yes I only included the moon in the images I uploaded because the milky way pictures were too high of a resolution to fit in reddit. Very versatile ways of taking photos because of the 5x telephoto lens. But as I said this phone Takes amazing, vivid, detailed, sharp photos with ease.
Now the only reason I didn't put this at 10/10, is because of the video quality. It is good, but not the best I wanted a little more than this phone offered video wise but it's not bad by any means, and also the camera app is a bit laggy, that doesn't concern me but some might find it annoying.
Battery life (9/10)
With it's massive 6500mah battery, it can last a day easily , hitting 8 hours sot while at 120hz and cellular data. You can squeeze 2 more hours of sot on this phone with battery saver and could easily make it a 2 day phone. And charges fully with the 67watt charging brick. The reason I didn't rate this 10/10 is because it's not the best. It's very good and competes with top flagships but again. Not the absolute pinnacle. But still , very good.
Overall rating (8.1/10)
This phone is nearly unbeatable at the prices its going for right now, but again, it has it's issues and problems. Like the fact that Xiaomi can put more work in their software and thermal management, but I hope this will be fixed with hyperos 4. I Recommend this phone to anyone who wants a excellent camera, very good battery life and good performance. Oh as well as fast charging speeds.
