TL;DR: Need a game (ideally controller) to REALLY love.

Hey all. I come with a desperate plea.

Recently I’ve fallen out of love with gaming, which would be fine if i didn’t have a steam account with over $40,000 (Today’s Currency as of SteamDB) of games. I picked up a legion GO S before a major surgery last year and that’s been a big boon and runs like a dream on that Z1E, but it feels like nowadays I open a game and then close it because i’m worried that I will drop it. Like a fear of even trying to immerse myself.

Here’s what i know I love:

Metal Gear. The whole thing. Love the action movie espionage and Kojima’s constant fart huffing.

Death Stranding 1 and 2: I would say Death Stranding 2 was the last game that i really felt strongly enough about to cry.

Mass effect.

Yakuza/Like a Dragon

LEGO Games

Devil May Cry

Lords of the Fallen (2023)

Here’s what I tried and bounced off of, at the dismay of many of my friends:

Expedition 33: The end of act 1 really soured me and i was able to guess the ending by that point, as verified by a friend who beat it.

Anything FROMSOFT: Generally too convoluted for my pea brain. I need a bit of yellow paint

Bethesda games: The creation engine feels like moving through mud.

P.S. worry not, i’ve shared my steam family with some of my closest “family” who actively game, so nothing is really being wasted, i’m just kind of the provider.
