Just finished the whole series for the first time

I don't know how to process everything. But overall, it's one of the best sci-fi series that I've read.

It's insane how much emotion Simmons can put into such a universe-spanning story.

I'd probably rate the books like this:

  1. Fall of Hyperion (best narrative, most action, most well-structured)

  2. Hyperion (best character work and amazing mystery)

  3. Endymion (insanely good world building and journey story, I never wanted the constant stream of new places to end)

  4. Rise of Endymion (overall satisfying and really adds a ton of extra layers onto the universe we already have established, manages to still bring strong emotion)

What got you into cozy gaming?

Hi all, I just recently started coming back to games after a hiatus because of how busy my life has been. With school and work I haven't had the mental capability or time to play games the last few years.

When I was younger I played a lot more AAA titles. I typically played things with a lot of action including FPSs. I think as I've grown up I've kind of had a gaming "identity crisis" and never knew where I fit in. Looking back, a lot of what I played was very overstimulating and negatively encouraged my anxiety and ADHD. With life now, I didn't know if I wanted to even game anymore considering how it could make my stress worse.

I recently started playing some of my favorite old games because of summer break. I unintentionally started playing SimCity 4, Rollercoaster Tycoon, Stellaris, and Minecraft again. I realized I was having a great time because these were relaxing and low stimulation. Some of my fondest memories from video games were these older games which calm my anxiety and give me something to focus on that's fun and low stakes. I think coming to this conclusion has really lit a fire under my ass and reignited my love for gaming again.

While I will still adore and can play games like Elder Scrolls, Call of Duty, BioShock, Halo, and various other action titles, I enjoy those games most in the quieter times when the atmosphere takes over and I can just breathe for a second. I started playing some cozy titles like Stardew Valley, TimberBorn, Wytchwood, and Spiritfarer and I can't get enough of them; so I've gone crazy this Steam sale and built a backlog of similar games to try based on recommendations from this community!

I'd love to hear other people's experiences and how they gravitated towards this genre and community. I find it's really showed me the artistic side of gaming that I otherwise didn't appreciate as much. Now I also have something that calms me down after a long day which I can look forward to.

Is two days of cardio and three days of weightlifting acceptable?

Hi all, I've got into a great schedule of doing full body weights three times a week and I've been seeing some results; however, I have been shirking my cardio. Mostly focusing on long walks and lawn work, but I want to get back to doing more high intensity stuff again.

I am getting into a break from school, but I struggle with keeping a schedule when I have to exercise more than five days a week. I don't want to do cardio at the gym because it never feels like enough time to make it worthwhile combined with my weights. So, I can only realistically fit two days of dedicated cardio sessions in addition to the three gym sessions I have, but I worry if this is enough.

I know a lot of recommendations say to do 30 minutes of cardio five days a week, but I really can't see how feasible it is to do that with my schedule. Is my proposed split realistic for good fitness outcomes? Or do I need to figure out some way to do more cardio?

Hi everyone!

I completed the HB Resolute track back in November and I have an interview to be an analyst with PB and HB. Any advice would be appreciated on what type of knowledge I should brush up on or what points I should bring up during the interview. This would be my first Epic Analyst position and I want to show that I have some existing knowledge while also willing to learn a lot.

Songs like I Believe in Ghosts or Rhienstoned also remind me of Golden Hour, but when I heard Loneliest Girl I immediately was transported back to that era. What I love is it reminds me of Love is a Wild Thing but a more personal and introspective version. Love is a Wild Thing is my favorite Kacey song so I'm not surprised I got attached to it.

Probably top 3 on the album, easily.
