Army Reserve Southampton Area?

Interested in joining the Army Reserve, and looking at the various roles based around Southampton. If anyone is or has been in one of these units keen to hear your experience and any unit recommendations, unsure of which role to pursue at the moment.

36 and looking for a new challenge. Previously did University Air Squadron training, but for various reasons haven't pursued further reserve service.

Edit: I have looked at the unit options - interested in knowing which roles are particularly active and interesting.

UK - last minute summer courses

Looking to get back into gliding and have some extra leave to use this summer.

Does anyone know of a UK gliding club with last minute spaces for training? Currently scouring google but no luck!

Thanks!

Glasgow Recommendation - Amulet

Amulet Glasgow 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿- incredible pourover

Found via European Coffee - for once didn’t feel let down by the app 😂

Great range of pourover plus retail beans. Super friendly staff.

Highly recommend if you’re in the area

Horse riding treks?

Hi All,

Looking for recommendations for a horse riding trek in the forest as a gift for my other half. She used to ride a lot 10 years ago, so is relatively comfortable being a on a horse.

If anyone can recommend a good School that offers this in the forest, please let me know!!

OXO Collapsable Pourover - best new travel brewer?

I travel a lot from work and I’ve been trying to find a good compact set up for having good coffee whilst I’m away. Found the travel aeropress to be too messy and small capacity, and the clever dripper too cumbersome.

Was surprised to find an OXO collapsible pour over in Whole Foods in the USA ( I’m from the UK), so couldn’t say no to picking one up.

First impressions are very good, much quicker and cleaner to use and doesn’t take up much space. For my usual beans/grind/temperature settings it was certainly a different flavour.

Has anyone got any advice for dialling in? Similarly any recommendations for decent quality Melita #2 filters? Currently using clever dripper

Passing through Washington DC soon and looking forward to recommendations for a good pourover or roastery to pick up some beans. Will be around Reston so ideally accessible from there!

Google isn’t being massively helpful for a pourover so local recommendations appreciated!

Thanks 🤓
