My leo (Sponge) suffered an infection in both eyes starting in early June. It came out of nowhere, and was of course my fault. She was vitamin A deficient because the supplement I was using did not have absorbable vitamin A. To he honest, I was told it was a suitable supplement and just trusted it. I failed to research in depth what vitamins and supplements were important. I pretty immediately freaked out and learned online that vitamin A was probably the root cause. I gave her antibiotics twice a day for a whole month, and assist fed her Repashy Grub Pie for the vitamin A before her eyes finally looked healthy. I was so upset that I had possibly ruined her QOL forever if she lost vision. Every day I saw improvement was a good day. I am annoyed that I let it happen, and relieved that she is doing better. Since then I have switched to Repashy Calcium Plus. Feel free to ask any questions on husbandry. I am currently in the process of upgrading her hardscaping and creating a bioactive tank.
And please if you are new to keeping Leos or any reptile or honestly any pet, do your research. Pets are an investment, and reptiles are not cheap when it comes to giving them a proper environment to thrive in. Be prepared and willing to spend hundreds of dollars at least, to give them what they need to be happy. These precious creatures are not decoration, and they depend on you. They may be a great choice for a first time reptile owner, but that does not mean everyone should be a reptile owner.
Sponge has been very healthy the whole time I've had her and now seems to have a bad infection in both eyes. Recently I went on vacation and my pet sitter failed to keep her enclosure humid enough for her to easily shed. She got shed stuck in both eyes that I eventually was able to help her remove. She seemed fine but then a day later she shed again and she wouldn't open her eyes. 1 day later her eyes look as shown. Her right eye is bloodshot and glazed over, and her left eye has that cloudy spot at the bottom. She may be vitamin A deficient, as she has been refusing to eat recently. Any insight on possible cause for this would be appreciated. I am currently trying to get an appointment with an exotic vet, and will get eyedrops in the meantime and move her to a hospital tank.
I just did a valve adjustment on my 2001 CRV, replaced the cover gasket and other basic stuff. I put everything back together, and started the car. BAM max throttle almost redlining the poor thing. Sounds like its gonna blow up. Does anyone have any suggestions? The plenum is attached properly, and there are no big vacuum leaks. The IACV is clean. Really not sure what could have gone bad during the valve adjustment. Any help is very appreciated. Really need my car running.
When I first start my car the idle is around 1200 rpm to warm up, which might be a little low. But once it warms up the idle fluctuates from 400 down to 200 rpm. It is insanely low and the whole engine starts to shake. I have cleaned the IACV and have no vacuum leaks. Any help troubleshooting would be appreciated.
I bought a used 2001 CRV a year ago and I have fixed many issues, and it still has issues I'm addressing. However, the check engine light has not come on a single time since I bought it. I know there are plenty of codes it has thrown but the light itself is never on. Im guessing the seller disabled it on purpose somehow to sell the car as "good". Does anyone have any ideas or advice on how to figure out the cause? All the other dashboard lights work perfectly. Any help is appreciated.
