Blued Python or 586?!

Title states it..Blued Colt Python or a Smith 586? New production will likely be the easier path to finding either one around me.

Yes I know the Python is like $500 more, if it’s 1000% worth the extra money, I don’t mind one bit paying for it.

Which would you go with and why?

Looking to buy my first Single Action

As the title states, looking forward to buying my first single action, seems like a fun venture.

The questions I have, to get a “nice” one, are the Piettas/Ubertis a solid choice? Or do I find a Colt? Are the Rugers still overbuilt like their DA revolvers?

357mag or 45Colt?

357mag is easier to find/ more economical/lots of them have secondary cylinders to shoot 9mm through, as well as the 38special option.

45Colt can shoot 45special as well, are there 45ACP Cylinders as well? There’s something about a 45 that is badass too?

At one point I think I recall reading that modern hot loaded 357mag wasn’t safe to shoot in these Pietta/Uberti SAA Clones?

Hot barrels

What do you guys do to cool barrels faster? Or do you? I’ve seen the little chamber fans, and last week when I was zeroing my rifle I did see a guy with a little fan he made with a rubber hose he put in his chamber as well.

Finally got to shoot it.

Finally got to shoot my Horizon Firearms Bandit 22Creedmoor yesterday after like a month and a half.

Story on the absolute shit groups- first rounds through the gun and at a public outdoor range with some weenies shooting FRTs under a pavilion..I found it hard to concentrate.

Two 5rd groups just above the red dot after letting the barrel cool a bit, made the adjustments I needed to.

Two seperate groups on smaller dots, the one flyer I will say mirage got me off of the suppressor(went and bought a suppressor cover after I got off the range), didn’t think mirage would become that big of a problem after about 15rd in 15min or so, but on a warm humid day here..I guess I should have known that 😂😂

At 100yd I’m more than happy with how easy it was to shoot, I’ll be taking it out to distance with some buddies here soon, unfortunately I have to drive 2+hr to go anywhere with more than 100yd to shoot.

After putting 30rd through it in a span of about an hour and a half, I did heat the barrel up but it wasn’t absolutely insanely hot after a 10rd string.

So far the gun can definitely outshoot me, and I’ve got a lot to learn 🤙🏼🤙🏼

Super stoked about this new Horizon 22Creed I got. Went with a Mk4HD 4.5-18 for glass. 🍻 more goodies for it coming soon! Excited to get to play at some distance!
