Those ablated, who were in persistent AFIB, were you successful the first time?

I am in persistent AFIB, and unfortunately have no idea how long I've had AFIB. I have had an irregular heart beat for around 10 years but went to the doctor and they told me I was fine. Unsure if I've had AFIB for that long but it's definitely been a while.

I'm having my first ablation Wednesday, and I'm curious to hear how others in persistent AFIB got on with theirs?

How long were you in persistent AFIB for before the ablation? Did it work first time? Are you now in paroxysmal? Or still in persistent? Or AFIB free!?

(I know everybody is different I just want to hear experiences)
