Really bad experience with weed last night.

Last night I decided to take a hit of weed with my girlfriend. She smokes often because she says it helps her de-stress. I haven’t smoked in almost 2 years but I figured maybe it would help me too. I go on short 15-20 minute walks around my neighborhood when symptoms are manageable so I decided I’d try smoking while we were out on the walk. I took one hit and soon after started feeling very uncomfortable. We walked back to the house and I sat down to check my heart rate and it was at 200!! Highest I’ve ever seen it. Obviously was dizzy, presyncope, all the symptoms. My girlfriend was worried that we might have to take me to the ER but I was weary to go because I’ve gone multiple times and they usually never help. I saw a cardiologist 6 months ago and they did 2 week heart monitor, echo, multiple EKG’s, and told me I was fine. The high heart rate scared me really bad though. I decided to just lay down and drink water and distract myself. Even laying down on my back and doing nothing my resting heart rate was at like 120-130 for an hour. Started calming down a bit later in the night and finally went back below 100 after a couple hours, but everytime I would get up and move around or do anything it would easily go up over 100. This morning I feel fine, just on edge. It’s obvious that weed doesn’t help me lol. I’m still pretty shook up about the 200 heart rate. I legitimately have never seen it go that high. The highest I’ve seen it during bad flair ups has been like 150-160ish.

Blood pressure goes high instead of low?

I’ve been seeing a cardiologist for this as well but so far they haven’t been able to help much. I was feeling super dizzy and like I was going to pass out today just standing up and doing nothing so I checked my blood pressure while standing and it was 150/88 with pulse of 130. I decided to lay down for a few minutes and rechecked it laying down, went to 116/65 with pulse of 84. Is anyone else like this too and if you are do you have any tips on how to get better besides electrolytes and compression? I’ve tried increasing electrolytes and it doesn’t help. Compression helps only somewhat.

Compression helps but salt doesn’t?

It seems like abdominal compression and socks are helping me a little bit with the orthostatic symptoms but increased salt intake doesn’t seem to do anything for me. My main symptoms are adrenaline dumps, orthostatic intolerance, presyncope, constant anxiety/panic, and chronic dizziness. I’ve tried to increase salt because my cardio had recommended it along with the compression but it doesn’t seem to do anything besides make my hands feel swelled up. My blood pressure almost always runs elevated as well. Whenever I take it, it’s usually like 130/90 and can sometimes go up to 140/95 and higher if I’m symptomatic that day. The extra salt also causes it to be higher which concerns me a lot. I’ve already been checked out by a doctor and cardio and they’ve found nothing wrong. He told me it’s my autonomic nervous system and to drastically increase electrolytes and compression but never gave an actual firm recommendation on how much. I tried 2 electrolyte packets a day and also have tried sodium chloride tablets and it just doesn’t seem to do anything for me except raise my bp.

Presyncope episode immediately after trying to eat

Today I was actually feeling pretty good and not very symptomatic at all. I had a normal breakfast, felt fine for several hours, then went to work. While at work I got a sandwich and chips. I ate a couple chips, then as soon as I went in to take a bite of the sandwich I suddenly felt extremely out of it and almost fainted. Everything got fuzzy very quickly and for a second I felt super disoriented like I forgot where I was. I was sitting down thankfully, because I got pretty close to fully passing out. The intense presyncope feeling lasted maybe 1–2 minutes.

After that for the next hour I was extremely shaky, anxious, dizzy, and felt unstable when standing or walking. I also had a slight vertigo sensation, like things were subtly moving up and down. I ended up taking propranolol, which helped calm down most of the symptoms, but the rest of the day I still felt dizzy while walking around or standing up, anxious, and generally just off. What’s confusing me is that this came out of nowhere. I was feeling completely normal beforehand, and when I finished eating the sandwich later, the presyncope didn’t happen again.

Has anyone else had sudden episodes like this triggered immediately after taking a couple bites of food? It honestly shook me up pretty bad and I don’t know what to do about it.
