$4000.00 to r&r a hose!

It’s getting pricey for this old timer to keep my 200k mile Turbo. Parts are really both increasing dramatically in cost while indie labor rates are as always borderline usurious. Plus I’m no longer in a major metro area with my longtime competent “indie” help. So no I’m at the mercy of less than stellar techs.

My 7th and final Porsche 911 still runs like a stung mule - but the costs are getting to me! Alas - My motoring days with this one are sadly numbered.

But God knows - I’ve had my fun!

My hi-Mile 996 Turbo has sprung a leak! Arghh...

Which while not a coolant line(?!) is still gonna require an engine/trans drop to get at it. So lucky me! now I get to do all the "while I'm in there uber costly shit I've neglected"! But I've had this thing 18+ years and there are still some 23 year old parts inside, so I've done well.

I had a few offers to sell the car last x'mas and had just installed new rears so I thought "One last summer of taking the long way home" but no!.

Saving grace is I'd have felt like shit, if Id sold the car and this issue occurred post sale.

So, now I'll just be drained of several thousands of repair dollars. Someone's gonna get a helluva bitchin' 996 Turbo, when I do finally sell 'er. Meanwhile? Let the repairs begin.

FUUUUCKKK! grrrr
