If I Start Learning Cybersecurity Now, What Kind of Career Could I Have in 4 Years?
Hi everyone!
I’m thinking about starting my journey into cybersecurity and learning it seriously on my own.
I’m still a beginner, but I’m wondering about the future. If I consistently learn and practice cybersecurity for the next 4 years, what kind of career could I realistically build?
One thing I’m also concerned about is AI. With AI becoming more capable every year, I’m worried that some cybersecurity jobs might be automated or become much harder to get.
So I’d like to know:
What cybersecurity roles could I realistically aim for in 4 years?
Which skills should I focus on to stay relevant in an AI-driven job market?
Will AI reduce the number of cybersecurity jobs significantly?
Is cybersecurity still a good career to pursue long-term?
How important are certifications compared to practical skills and projects?
Is it realistic to get a good entry-level job after 4 years of self-learning?
If you were starting from zero today, what would you learn first?
I’d really appreciate honest advice from people currently working in cybersecurity, especially those who have experience with AI and automation.
Thanks!
