I watched Kaye Abad’s vlog about her breast cancer journey and honestly, it hit me emotionally. I could relate so much to the fear she talked about.

I currently have 6 benign cysts in my left breast and 8 in my right. Every time I get checked, that fear is always there at the back of my mind. Not really for myself, but for my children.

As a single mom, God knows I’m living and working hard mainly for them now. They’re still young, and sometimes naiisip ko… what would happen to them if mawala ako this early? That’s the part that scares me the most.

Watching Kaye Abad’s story also made me admire her strength and heart even more. She’s blessed to have a very supportive husband and family beside her throughout the journey.

Praying for healing, strength, and peace for every woman silently struggling with this kind of fear. 🙏🤍

Pero disclaimer: Windows pa rin ang tunay kong battle buddy. 🫡

Naniniwala rin ba kayo sa “lucky laptop”? Kasi swear, lahat ng life-changing interviews, client calls, rejections, iyak moments, at plot twists sa freelancing journey ko si ThinkPad kasama ko. Parang emotional support device ko na siya at this point HAHAHA. 😭🤍

Kaya kahit naka-MacBook na tayo ngayon… hindi ko pa rin kayang i-let go si Windows soldier. Veteran na yun ng gyera sa buhay. 🪖💻

Client Serye continues… 🤍

If nasubaybayan niyo yung previous episodes ng aking “nasa tamang client” serye… eto yata yung isa sa pinaka nakakataba ng puso for me. 🥹

One thing I’m really grateful for with my client is the trust they gave me from the start. And ngayon, parang umabot na rin pati sa family ko. 🤍

My brother is actually super introverted and takot talaga sa interviews kahit skilled naman siya in video editing. Portfolio lang talaga pinasa niya plus konting endorsement from ate hehe.

Since intermediate na rin naman expertise niya, I suggested na mag start siya around $15/hour kahit first time niya sa remote setup. Honestly kinakabahan pa kami baka tawaran or i-negotiate pa ni client…

Pero ang nangyari? Instant approve agad. 😭

Now napa-isip tuloy ako kung mababa ba yung sinabi kong rate o sakto lang HAHAHA.

And honestly, medyo emotional din ako for him kasi feeling ko sa current government work niya, hindi talaga well compensated yung pagod and dami ng scope ng trabaho niya under their Mayor. Kahit may item na siya doon, feeling ko baka kalahating week pa lang kay client, halos equivalent na ng one month salary niya doon. 😭

Kaya bilang ate, sobrang saya ko for him kasi nasa early 30s na siya and gusto na rin niya bumukod and eventually start his own family someday. Parang bigla ko na lang naisip… baka eto talaga yung plot twist ni Lord for us. 🤍

Sabi ko nga sa kanya, “Skills mo ilaban mo, hindi mo kailangan magpanggap.” Because honestly, alam kong hindi ako mapapahiya sa quality ng work niya.

Then after that, si client diretso na agad sa sharing ng branding kits, upcoming projects, content plans, and future reels na gagawin niya. Proud ate moment talaga. 😭✨

Sobrang heartwarming lang when someone trusts your work enough to also trust the people connected to you.

And for someone na first time papasok sa remote setup habang nilalabanan pagiging introvert, I feel like this is the perfect start for him. TY Lord talaga. 🙏

PS: Initial plan talaga namin if hindi siya matanggap was ako maghahanap ng ibang direct clients then siya na lang gagawa nung video editing and graphic tasks behind the scenes dahil hirap talaga siya sa interviews and self-introduction. Kaya sobrang thankful ko na binigay talaga sa kanya directly yung opportunity. 🥹🤍

Walang super magical twist pero sobrang sarap kasi bagong luto at crispy. Fries lover din ako so automatic panalo. PS: Del Monte ketchup nila, medyo na-humble ako doon HAHAHA.

🍗 Signature Spiced Chicken Wings – 9/10

Hindi ako wings person pero isa kasi siya sa medyo “reasonable” sa menu kaya napasama sa order. Ayun, napa-extra rice pa tuloy kami kasi masarap pala. 😭

🍔 Signature C Lounge Burger – 7/10

Ito talaga highest expectations namin kasi around ₱1.2k with fries. Sorry pero for me… mas masaya pa rin ako sa Angels Burger HAHAHA. Hindi siya pangit ah, pero parang hindi ko ramdam yung ₱1.2k experience.

🦑 Garlic Prawns and Calamari – 9/10

Masarap and tender yung calamari. Legit pang-ulam vibes. Ito yung tipong mapapadami rice mo kahit sosyal yung place.

🍫 Local Choco Lava Cake with Vanilla Ice Cream – 5/10

As a certified matakaw sa desserts, akala ko ito yung babalikan ko. Kaso may coconut/gata aftertaste siya and hindi talaga kami compatible. 😭 Yung vanilla ice cream na lang halos yung finocus ko.

☕ Brewed Coffee – 8/10

Pwede na pang-tambay or work remotely. Presyo parang Starbucks lang din pero mas sosyal yung view kaya kunyari main character habang nagkakape. 😌

🥤 Cocoa Milkshake – 8/10

Parang pinsan nung lava cake yung lasa minus the coconut trauma.

✨ Overall Experience – 10/10

Food-wise may ilang “okay lang” moments, pero overall experience sobrang worth it naman. Maganda service, hindi masyadong crowded kahit Mother’s Day weekend, tapos may live band pa around 7PM onwards kaya very chill and sosyal tita vibes.

Mainit lang outdoors during sunset, pero feeling ko perfect tambayan siya during Ber months lalo pag may fireworks sa MOA. Pwede balikan kahit kape-kape lang kunwari may generational wealth. ✨

PS: Total bill was around ₱4.2k na with 2 senior discounts na rin, so not as scary as I expected for a Conrad experience. 😅

Blueberry Cheese Pocket ng SB… masarap ba talaga or mataas lang expectations ko? 😅

As a cheesecake lover, medyo may kulang for me. Hindi naman siya pangit, sakto lang yung lasa pero parang hindi worth yung ₱95 price point. Medyo bitin sa cheesecake flavor and richness.

Siguro mga 6/10 for me. Baka ako lang? 🤔

Ever since I shifted to a 4-day work week, parang di pa rin ako sanay magpahinga agad. 😅 So kahit off ko na dapat, nagsend pa rin ako ng report update intended for Friday.

Then this was my client’s reply. 🥹❤️

Honestly, ang sarap lang sa feeling ma-remind na importante rin pala yung pahinga and life outside work. Coming from environments na parang kailangan laging available, this kind of work culture still feels unreal to me sometimes.

Hindi man perfect ang work life, pero sobrang grateful lang na may mga taong marunong mag-value ng boundaries, family time, at wellbeing mo as a person. 🥹

Asked my client if I could log off early today for my mom’s birthday since we’re surprising her in the province.

Her response?

“Get out of here, go be with your mom!” 💛

Mind you, hindi pa ako fully tapos sa tasks ko for the day, pero she was already pushing me to leave early.

Minsan pag gusto niya na ako mag-log off, di na niya rereplyan Slack messages ko para di na ko mag work. 😂

Honestly, aside from the bonuses and flexibility, this is what I appreciate most. Working with people who genuinely respect your life outside of work.

Coming from past jobs where asking for time off felt stressful, this kind of environment still feels unreal to me.

Manifesting this kind of client for everyone. ✨

Saw a red plate vehicle parked at SM on a Sunday and napa-isip lang ako… official government business pa rin ba ‘yan on a weekend?

Gets ko naman there may be valid reasons, but as someone na nagbabayad din ng taxes while surviving gas prices and Meralco bills lately, mapapaisip ka talaga minsan 😅

Curious lang if may actual policy or exceptions for this?

Or is this one of those things na technically dapat for official use only?

Would love to hear from anyone familiar with the rules before I judge too fast haha.
