The total ambiguity of release in NJ is straight up unbearable

For those not in the know, New Jersey ostensibly claims “late November”, but has for at least the last 5 years has always released scores around today.

Across the last 10 administrations, the median release date is 72 days after the exam, which puts us at literally today for J26.

The problem is that they don’t tell us at all. They historically don’t give any warning or notice at all, and the one time they did for J25 it was only a 24-hour heads up.

So EVERYONE in New Jersey is sitting on edge all day long expecting a possible surprise drop today that might not even come. We have literally no idea.

“Failure is not an option for me either, but that’s only because I don’t have any other choice!”

Thought this line from the trailer was really clunky lol. Kinda redundant. It’s not an option, because you don’t have a choice? Oh, ok.

Did anyone else know that Civ Pro was only added to the MBE in 2015?

Feeling ripped off lol. It’s THAT recent? I assumed it would’ve been there from the start.

On one hand I get it, because it’s gonna be by far the most practically relevant subject for almost anyone who takes the bar.

On the other hand, I hate it. Because I hate Civ Pro.

On July 30th I think I’m gonna be like one of those guys who can’t adjust to life on the outside after serving a 50 year prison sentence

At this point doing MBEs and shit is so integral to my routine that I think I’m going to end up missing them in a Stockholm-syndrome sort of way.

Maybe I’ll fail, and I’ll get to start it all again in 6 months!

Does anyone else feel like they’re still learning completely new random shit during MBE practice?

Getting down to the wire and I feel like I’m still getting hit with questions about things I’ve literally never heard of. Stressful as hell. Especially on Civ Pro.

Maybe it’s just the Themis questions being hell, but man. Freaking me out a bit.

I think the worst-phrased questions are probably the ones where the answer percentages are basically just split around ~25% across all four options

My knee-jerk inclination is always to feel kinda annoyed when there’s some question that only like 13% of people got right. But often I feel those questions are just testing on little exceptions that are rare, but valid.

I think when a the answer percentages just fall in like that 20-30% range for every single one, it’s clear that nobody really got what the question was even asking for.

I wonder if those are the ones that get trashed in subsequent exams.

Okay, I know we’re not supposed to assume anything we can’t glean directly from the facts, but this seems kinda ridiculous to me.

Okay, fine, sure, the guy who said “can you check on my house while I’m on vacation” did not literally also say “Oh yeah, and if you use my home that I’m trusting you to keep safe to throw a gigantic party with tons of people I don’t know, I’ll be upset”

But… obviously that’s what anyone would mean? That is obviously what any human would mean. I can’t stop myself from baking baseline level assumption about how reality works.

The MBE is *obsessed* with Depraved-Heart murder.

At least through what UWorld offers. I’ve done probably a third of their MBE bank, and maybe it’s just a weird coincidence so far, but I swear 8 out of every 10 homicide-related questions are directly related to depraved heart murder in some capacity. Why?

What are your worst sub-topics right now?

Me personally, if I read literally any question about the balance of powers between the three branches of government, my eyes glaze over.

“Can the President override this Congressional action? Can the judiciary override that override?”

I gotta be honest with you man, I’ve got no fuckin clue.

How it feels to pick the correct answer, only to find out in the explanations that your rationale for doing so was completely wrong

To what extent are the Still Lifes (Lives?) actually “alive”?

Just interested in other’s thoughts on this. Do you think they’re living creatures?

Certain themes of the film relate them to the idea of being more like “furniture”.

The Backrooms don’t know what humans are, but it knows they’re there, and loosely knows what humans are supposed to “do”. So the Rooms render them like it would furniture, with only a baseline level of animate-ness to vaguely replicate a human.

The Still Lifes are made of something that seems to be fundamentally biological matter (you can eat them), and they do seem to emote in some capacity (the woman and wheelchair man were both “afraid” of Cap’n Clark)

But idk, does that mean they’re actually living creatures? I can make a marionette move around and emote as well. Doesn’t mean it’s any more alive than my sofa. Like, these things are obviously less sapient than even an AI chatbot. They can’t really “think”.

Maybe you could even draw a line somehow. Maybe Cap’n Clark is “alive” like an animal, but the striped shirt guy is more like a fleshy statue.

I’m confused by what the limits of “operating locally” today are for Northeast Corridor. Are the trains leaving out of Newark still?

I’m trapped in the city right now. I was thinking of taking the PATH to Newark and then from there getting on a train to Rahway. But I’m having a really hard time parsing anything on the app.

It says trains to Trenton will be operating locally. I don’t know what that means. There’s an announcement specifically for the Raritan Valley Line that says trains are originating in Newark today. But what of the other lines?

Insane question: What do you do if you have to poop during the exam?

Does everyone just try and hold it til a break or something?

I’m on such a strict biological clock. I go at like 11am almost every day. How does anyone else tackle this pressing issue?

Does anyone else’s ferrets have a “proceeding” hairline? Lol

First slide is one of my ferrets when she was just shy of 2 years old, and second slide is her again, now 5 and some change.

Her mask is now much less distinct, and the sandy blonde fur from the top of her head has progressively marched down to connect with her mask.
