Wholesome UC Davis Specific Ways to Make Friends :] (irl stories)

Every incoming college student has probably heard the whole “oh say hi to ppl in your dorm” and “join clubs” type stuff before.

But, do any of you upperclassman have any niche or unexpected ways you met good friends at Davis (idk like walking the arboretum or something lol)? Or any particular clubs that you personally feel are the best? I thought it would be fun to hear such stories ^^

Bathroom situation in dorms

Hey, as an incoming student I was curious what the dorm bathrooms are like (I’m seeing conflicting information online).

I take that you generally can’t get your own private bathroom, but is it possible through any means? Also, how many people usually share a bathroom, and are they co-ed?

I saw on the website that varies by resident hall but I’m seeing other places that say it’s always one bathroom per floor no matter what so I’m just tryna figure out which is what lolol

Also be honest, how gross are they?

Piccolo rental left-hand middle key won’t rise

I urgently needed to have a piccolo and so I rented from this one shop a couple of months ago without having them work on it first. It seemed to play perfectly fine

Well now right before it’s time to return it, I was playing it a little and suddenly the left hand middle finger key isn’t rising (and so mid Bb is playing as A).

Specifically, it seems that both holes of that key are getting closed when I click the key that’s on the right-hand pointer (even though only one side is supposed to). I thought maybe the pad was just sticky but it falls back down even if you pry the top part up (it’s like the top mechanism can’t keep itself up on its own)
I don’t know how this happened (I literally haven’t even used it in like 2 weeks and it was fine before) but I need to fix it somehow. Does anyone know how to make that key rise again? Even though they didn’t work on it right before I rented it, they’ll still bill me for it because it stopped working after a few weeks of me using it

[talk] Does anyone know where to find North Korean films from the 1960s? I’m not sure if the film I’m looking for is lost

I particularly want to watch clips with Song Hye-Rim in it (the mistress of Kim Jong Ill that was the mother of Kim Jong Un’s half brother which he assassinated). It seems (according to Wikipedia anyway) that her two more popular films were Onjŏngryŏng (온정령) and Baek Il-hong (백일홍) but searching for these led to nothing other than the Wikipedia page or pages which just regurgitated it.

Does anyone know perhaps a website in particular or database which I could check for these? We have archives of North Korean television broadcasts and such so I figured they must be old enough where they wouldn’t be completely lost due to censorship (like surely a copy of them was saved outside of North Korea for whatever reason before the media lockdown happened) but I can’t find any evidence one way or the other
