Aloinopsis schoonesii bouquet
My aloinopsis schoonesii surprised me with blooms this afternoon! Four of five buds finally opened up. The smell is kind of sour and grassy.
Bonus Faucaria flower at the end.

Here's a look at my Haworthias this winter season (ft. some cat hairs). I live in the Cape where we typically have rainy winters, but it's been unusually warm and dry.
Most (except the last two) live inside with indirect light. They're all planted in mostly an inorganic, medium-grit mix that I use for most of my succulents. I think I'm starting to understand when to water to avoid root rot for the temperatures here.
I would say my faves are the one in the tortoise planter and the comptoniana.
Here's my peyote cactus in a little melted ice-cream planter. The ice-cream scoop needs to grow a bit for the full effect!
Here's a look at my conophytum mid-ish-winter. It's been an unusually warm and dry winter here in the Cape. Some live on my windowsill and others live on my balcony.
Bonus split rocks at the end!
Watch my conophytum praesectum bloom in reverse! I saw the first semblance of a flower on 10 April and the most recent pic was taken on 16 April.
It's turning rainy and cold here now and all the conos feel better! These all live on my windowsill for now and I might move them outside when I'm more sure the hottest sun has passed.
There was a rare plant fair in the area (Cape Winelands, South Africa) and I got a tray of new conos (featuring toppled lithops - they're fine).
They'll eventually go in some ceramic planters I made once those are glaze-fired.
Swipe to see the species!
