Is writing a novel worth it if you don't want to be an author when you grow up?
So, I'm a high schooler who always comes up with movie and book ideas. The most recent idea I came up with really sticks out and I think writing a part or all of it could be good for my creativity and good to not let my ideas just marinate until I don't like them. The one thing is that I'd probably be embarrassed to publish a book, especially as a teenage dude. Plus, I don't really think I'd want to become an author when I grow up for a few reasons. So, if I don't want to have anyone other than myself see what I write is it even worth it to write at all? I just want some other opinions on if it could help me with creativity or in English/Creative Writing classes. Thanks to anyone who cares enough to reply.
