My dumbest Deltarune theory yet. The “Ouchie Theory”
Much like how the titans are brought forth by an excess or darkness concentrated in a small area, what if the knight is “conjured“ via the same method. The knight looks very close to a titan, both are monochrome, with black bodies and white highlights.
What would happen if someone were to make a dark fountain in a person? like stabbing them and have the dark fountain connected to the person. Would the darkness envelop them, or would it create something separate from them? it doesn’t really matter, but the point I’m getting at is that the knight might be a concentrated dark world brought forth from someone‘s body. As of chapter five we know that dark worlds can overlap, this could explain how the knight seems to be able to function in both the light and dark worlds.
The knight was very late in chapter five, and we know that Rudy seemingly got injured during the festival. if Rudy has something to do with the knight, this could explain the knight‘s tardiness. Rudy could be stabbing himself to turn himself into the knight, the transformation of which would probably be taking a toll on him, this explaining his poor health, and his good health in chapter four since he evidently wasn‘t the knight for very long in chapter 3, or even had to make the fountain in chapter in Kris’ home in the first place. Additionally Rudy’s very poor health in chapter five could be explained by how long he was the knight in chapter four, spanning nearly the entirety of said dark world’s existence.
Where this theory is really lacking in evidence is the fact that we don’t really know what the knight was up to in chapters 1 and 2, and can’t use that to correlate to Rudy’s health. There’s also the fact that Tenna was seemingly communicating with the knight during chapter 3, however it could just be someone else speaking for them. Probablt Carol I guess? But that’s a stretch, even taking into account that it’s probably Carol Kris was speaking to over the phone in the Holiday house.
Additionally, the knight in chapter five seems to be less coordinated, I believe they even crash into something while taking away Asgore. This could be further evidence of Rudy being the knight since neither seem to be in the best condition.
There’s also the change that Dess could be the knight via having a dark fountain summoned in her. If Dess was fated to be the knight then this could be the way to fulfill the prophecy despite her not technically being able to do it herself. This also is somewhat support by the knight’s unstable form. Either her dust or her body or whatever was the ground to the dark fountain. I don’t really have any evidence to support this besides the fact that it sounds cool, we have so little info on Dess as a character that I can’t quite tie her to this theory.
Anyway, that’s the “ouchie theory”. I just liked the idea of Rudy stabbing himself honestly.
