The core premise of Part 2 remains unchanged. I wanna know how you guys think Bruce would fix the existing story. You can't invent a new premise on the spot.

Interesting challenge, eh?

The fact that any fan of the original game at all, would end up loving Abby more than Joel and Ellie!! That saddens me.

She's a narcissistic psychopathic bitch in every sense of the word. Why is it that Joel and Ellie are always shat on by the stans, but Abby is always given a pass by them.

And Druckmann blatantly favors her too. He sidelined Ellie in her OWN game in favor of his little pet. And to top it off, while Ellie ends up alone and with nothing, Abby gets off scott-free and gets to live a happy life with Lev.

If anybody favors Abby over Joel and Ellie after playing the original game, they were never true fans of the in my eyes. And Druckmann was and still is a fucking hitchhiker.

Abby was one of Druckmann's favorite characters apparently. This was a foreshadowing Twitter post from 2019...

Does Neil Druckmann hate Joel and Ellie.

Considering that not only is Joel killed off in the most disrespectful way and demonized throughout the game, but the fact that Ellie goes through literal hell the whole game, and ends up being alone and left with nothing at the end(which was her biggest fear at the end of the first game.)

Meanwhile, Abby gets off scot free, despite being a narcissistic psychopath, and not caring about anyone except for Owen. And Yara and Lev because plot demanded so. She gets to ride off into the sunset with Lev and meet up with the new Fireflies.

It feels like Druckmann was approaching Part II like a soft reboot and not as a genuine sequel. The game is effectively Abby's game, her origin story, and it wouldn't surprise me if he secretly wants to continue with her and Lev in a potential Part III.

Ellie was a truly great character. There was so much potential, so many possibilities, so many stories that Naughty Dog could've told with her. The ONLY purpose of a sequel to The Last of Us was to finally give this truly great character her own stage to shine. Why else make a sequel to The Last of Us? To kill off the original characters and replace them with cheap knock-offs?

I'd argue that almost no one would've had a problem with Joel's death, even an abrupt and brutal one, if we had at least gotten the game with Ellie we were promised. But just destroying Joel was apparently not enough for Druckmann, he had to completely dismantle Ellie as well.

Ellie doesn't deserve Joel in Part 2

I really fucking hate the way she treated Joel. It was so out of character for her. I could see her being a little mad at Joel, about what happened with the Fireflies and Joel lying to her about it. But shunning him for two years, not bothering to let Joel explain how incompetent the Fireflies were, and yelling at him after he defended her from Seth. That's not how Ellie would treat Joel after everything they've been through in the first game.

Ellie became a bitch in part 2.

Honestly, this Ellie doesn't deserve Joel. If a part 3 ends up happening, I hope Dina doesn't forgive her. I'm gonna be enjoying watching Dina yell at her, so Ellie can feel a fraction of how Joel felt.

Joel was a survivor, NOT a "monster"!

Joel is not the monster part 2 stans claim him to be. Most of Joel's violent actions were things he had to do in order to survive. He tortured those cannabals because he needed to know where Ellie was. He killed the Fireflies because they were about to recklessly kill his suragote daughter for a cure that wasn't even a guaranteed success. And he was the only guardian that ever gave a damn about Ellie.

I hate that Druckman, part 2, and their stans continually shit on him. Even worse, Abby did arguably worse things, but that doesn't people from bending over backwards to defend her.

Joel's death was so stupid and out of character for him.

Why would he ever give out his name to some random strangers he just met. Just contrived writting to get him out the way.

Yeah, these totally look like people who can save humanity. Rant

In the first game there was no guarantee a cure could would work. Yet the Fireflies rushed to drug and kill a teenage girl, without her consent for a small chance at a cure. And these people don't look competent enough to produce a cure anyway. And even than, who's to say they won't just keep it for themselves.

Joel did the right thing saving Ellie from those incompetent terrorists. But Part 2 has to be like "Fireflies good, Joel bad"!!
