How long does activation take?

Had an engineer come out to install the ONT around noon today which had a green light. Flashing Red light (Internet) from the router whose status is PPT connecting. I have a text from CityFibre saying my broadband connection is live. It is not. Gateway settings are correct for the modem / router. The engineer initially got a flashing red light, then reset the router (had to get the details from my provider) then left and asked me to contact my provider, home telecom, who said to wait or contact them tomorrow.

Anyone experienced waiting around for the connection to be live in spite of everything else seeming fine?

Thoughts on Dream Air Slam

Just received mine yesterday and after setting it up here’s my thoughts.

My goal is not really VR, although I will play a few titles if anything piques my interest again in the future. Most likely modded full games into VR such as Skyrim, when I get the urge to play it again. I’m mostly interested in flat to VR and stereoscopic 3D, as going from xreal glasses it’s just an amazing way to play. Sboys3 profile installed.

The hardware is absolutely incredible. Pushing those resolutions is insane and my jump has been from half SBS at 1080p (xreal 1s) to this and clarity is absolutely through the roof. This was my main reason for buying, and also to eliminate the low FOV of the xreal (I’ll be cancelling the Aura as I have no need for the additional XR features any more, which I considered a bonus anyway). There’s two standouts at the moment when using Geo-11 - the Witcher 3 and halo MCC. As an RPG fan, the Witcher feels like you are there, it’s that good.

Edge to edge clarity isn’t the best. There’s definitely a sweet spot and looking at the corners isn’t always clear (blurry).

Tracking is absolutely fine, no issues unless you go outside the range of the cameras, which is to be expected.

Before buying, did some research on which of my USB ports were directly connected to the CPU, so no blackouts or anything there if this is a contributing factor. No issues with Evo software at all.

Virtual desktop was extremely annoying to set up, but only because steam VR insisted on stealing theatre. After a few changes it still does it (why, valve?) but you can switch away from it without losing performance.

The biggest and main gripe is comfort. This has to be the worse, most uncomfortable headset fit I’ve experienced due to the facial interface. I’ve seen others getting emails about a new one, hopefully will get one as well but I’ve got the studioform on order.

Really an amazing lightweight headset held back by the comfort issues. That’s a big thing, as it’s completely counter productive to how light it is. With those gone, I think it’s just incredible.

For those with the Dream Air, would you recommend a stereoscopic display?

For context, I own a quest 3 and xreal 1s, both with their downsides. Quest 3 far too bulky and 1s low res, especially when split horizontally using Half SBS.

I’m not highly interested in exclusive VR, but I would use GEO11 / 3D, SuperDepth3D, UEVR and VR to 3D. I’m thinking either Desktop+ or virtual desktop through streamVR to display the game. I also want to be “locked in” to the virtual screen as you are usually with a VR headset, so the background light is locked out.

I presume that the OLED and huge bump in resolution would justify the cost? Anyone else use it in this manner?
