Curious to know everyone’s opinion on different warrior cats protagonists. My personal favorites are

Firestar. He’s probably the most generic pick for this but I think he deserves it. Firestar’s character arc and development are genuinely some of the best throughout the series. I love how the Erins aren’t afraid to show his relationships with other cats in the clan and the way he plays off of others is well written. He’s a great father and grandfather to his kin, and he never goes through the whole oh I’m going to change my whole personality in Starclan to drive the plot forward thing( mainly applies to Yellowfang).

Bristlefrost: She is definitely my favorite protagonist post OOTS. (Frostdawn is a close second)Idk something about her just clicked with me. She’s selfless and loyal to ThunderClan wholeheartedly, and her death almost made me cry. I do think that her character was inconsistent in the later half of the arc, and a bunch of her chapters were more focused on Rootspring then herself, which kind of drew me away, but when her chapters were focused on the story they were quite good.

Hawkwing: The only reason I like him is because of how utterly stupid he is throughout his super edition. Everything that happens in his book is his fault( or he is blamed/ blames himself for it)His brother dies in a fire, his clan is taken over by rogues, and more. My guy literally stumbles through his apprenticeship and life as a warrior and it is hilarious. Do I think he’ll make a good leader, definitely not, do I like his personality, I guess, but do I love the way he is written, you bet.

My least favorites are

Graywing: I know this is going to get me downvoted like crazy yet I’ve never seen the appeal of him. I don’t really want to explain it right now, but the way he treats Bumble and the situation with Clear Sky comes off as naive and annoying. He’s not horrible, but he’s certainly not the best.

Lionblaze: Once again, he’s not the worst cat in the series, but he’s immature, constantly aggressive, and just doesn’t add much to the scenes he is in( unless they are battle scenes). I find his whole relationship with Cinderheart slightly off putting, and I think his development in POT/ OOTS could have been built up in much more.

I’ve seen a lot of least favorite warrior cat relationship posts, so I decided to do a more positive one this time. What are your favorite ships(preferably canon but they don’t need to be) and why?

I’ll go first, Bracken x Sorrel. I love them SO much and they have lots of really cute moments. Like once, sometime in Omen of the stars, Jayfeather’s asks Sorrel if she needs poppy seeds and then she’s like, no it’s okay, Brackenfur’s snoring always lulls me to sleep and I just had to stop reading for a sec because omg that’s so wholesome. Later on , in Dovewing’s Silence, once Sorrel dies, the book states that Brackenfur goes to her grave and sits there EVERY single day. Whenever they appear in scenes together I just know that something cute is about to happen. So yeah. I’m a rock hard Bracken x Sorrel shipper.

~~If you don’t like Lenore Dove, what are your reasons for not liking her? The majority of reasons I have heard center around the fact that she isn’t that well of a developed character, and that she doesn’t have many unique traits. This doesn’t really make sense to me because SOTR isn’t a story about Lenore Dove and Haymitch’s relationship, it is supposed to tell the story of the 2nd Quarter Quell. Lenore and Haymitch are both 16 years old, their relationship isn’t supposed to be really deep, so there was no way for us to truly see their dynamic without a bunch of flashbacks, which would get boring quickly.

Lenore is a side character and the only way that she could have been in more of the story was if she was a tribute, which would have felt quite repetitive after the og trilogy and Peeta’s love for Katniss. I’m don’t exactly love Lenore Dove, but I feel like she is overhated because her hate comes less from her actual qualities and more from how little a role she plays throughout the story.~~

What are your guys head canons? They don’t need to be serious or have any canon evidence. My personal ones are:

1. Nightheart actually has ginger patches of fur on the back of his head and under his tail where he can’t see them and all of thunderclan has just collectively agreed to never tell him

2. Rowanclaw was the apprentice that brought back the rat from carrion place that made a lot of Shadowclan cats sick in the first arc. He faced a lot of backlash from this and it’s one of the reasons that shadowclan was so distrustful of him once he was a leader during AVOS, because many warriors had heard of what Rowanclaw caused.

3. A cat gets into Starclan or the Dark Forest based on their opinion of their life actions. For example, cats like Hawkfrost and Tigerstar knew that they were evil and had accepted that , so they were sent to the Dark Forest. This is why Frecklewish is stuck in the Dark Forest, she had watched Mapleshade’s kits die and had blamed herself for their deaths. On the other hand, cats like Ashfur and Clear Sky thought that their actions were justified and that they had other cat’s best interests in mind, leading them to join Starclan.
