He's also connected with Blackbeard narratively who is referred to by Luffy and Zoro as “they” , Luffy has previous experience with it since he has spent time with Shank before and Zoro researched his goal Mihawk's biggest rival. That's why they immediately knew.

Also when fisher tiger was freed Shank said he is gonna catch the guy who freed him , but the silhouette of the guy who freed him looked like Shank , why would he wanna catch himself...unless they are two different people

Now here are two theories as to how this is possible

Firstly notice how the world of one piece is so diverse yet we still don't have a fruit that allows the user to clone themselves, the closest is probably Kizaru's light clones and mr. 3's wax clones but they aren't actual clones. The jacket jacket fruit is a real devil fruit but the clone clone fruit isn't ? I feel it hard to believe. That's why i think Shanks might have the clone clone fruit which allows him to make completely sentient clones of himself with some limitations ( like deviding his strength )

There's also a second possibility that brings me to a very important question : “Is Shank's mom really dead ?”

Here's my hypothesis : Kuma saved Shank's mom and she later on gave birth to two more kids in memory of Shanks and Shamrock. Where do i get the 2 from ? Well we all know by now that Shamrock's name translates to “Clover” in Irish language and a clover typically has four leaflets , two of them may represent Shank and Shamrock and the other two may represent the other two half brothers.

First of all Sommers is visibly afraid here and i think it implies that Zoro's hypothesis is true. Secondly i think he's a special case since Gunko's whole upper half got blasted by Ussop but she survived and healed back up , plus i find it weird that Holy Knight Harald didn't mention it. Narratively also it would make little sense if all the holy knights could be killed without ACoC since it's been brought up again and again that the only way past immortality is ACoC , Gaban who fought holy knights occasionally would also probably mention important infor like that , therefore i think Sommers is a special case. He also has survived multiple ACoC attacks. Luffy's lightning punch should have killed him otherwise.

I know there's a theory that it doesn't work on Devil fruit users ( Loki , Luffy ) but the way Imu reacted makes it seem like it specifically doesn't work on them ( i.e. Nika , Nidhogg )
