X-E5 vs X-Pro3 — which would you choose for street, landscapes, and family photos?
I’m trying to decide between the X-E5 and the X-Pro3 and would like to hear which one people would recommend for my use case.
My main priorities are:
• How the camera feels in the hand.
• The overall shooting experience.
• Manual focusing and zone focusing.
• A body that suits street photography, landscapes, and photos of friends and family.
I currently use an X-Pro2 and really like the ergonomics, so I’m already comfortable with that style of camera. I’m selling my X-H2S because it’s larger than I want for the way I shoot, even though I know I’ll miss the larger EVF.
The X-E5 is appealing to me because of the larger sensor and the possibility of cropping to 65x24 in post. That said, I’m not sure whether that advantage outweighs what the X-Pro3 offers in handling and overall feel.
For those who have used both, which would you pick and why?
• Which one feels better in the hand?
• Which one makes more sense for this kind of shooting?
• How do they compare for manual focus and zone focus work?
• Is the X-E5’s sensor advantage enough to make it the better choice?
