Fujifilm vs. Film 🎞️🦭🌊🪨

Morro Bay and Los Osos on both the Fujifilm X-H2 and Pentax IQZoom. I love how differently both cameras interpreted the same places. Different colors, different textures, different feeling, but both so beautiful. ✨ Can you tell which is which? Is there one you prefer more than the other?

I got tired of paying Lightroom subscriptions just to sort my Fuji JPEGs, so I built my own app.

Hey everyone,
I used to be a professional photographer traveling the world shooting ballet. It was an amazing career, but now that I’m retired from the pro scene, my shooting habits have completely changed. I’ve dropped the heavy gear and now I exclusively shoot straight-out-of-camera with my Fuji (mostly chasing those perfect film simulation recipes).
Because I’m no longer doing massive RAW edits or client deliveries, I realized how crazy it is to keep paying expensive monthly fees for programs like Lightroom or Capture One just to cull, sort, and catalog my JPEGs.
I wanted a simple, lightweight tool without the bloat and without a license fee, so I decided to build my own. It’s called Proof.
It’s a straightforward cataloging and sorting solution designed for SOOC shooters who just want to organize their work without paying a monthly tax to Adobe.
I’m currently running it on a "set your own price" model. You can pay whatever you think is fair to help me cover the development fees and keep carrying on. No subscriptions, no catches.
You can check it out here: https://proof-photo.com
I’d love to hear feedback from fellow Fuji shooters to see how I can make this the perfect lightweight companion for a SOOC workflow. Let me know what you think!

City trip to Berlin

Some photos from my trip to Berlin (June 2026). I took all of them with my Fujifilm X100vi and they are all SOOC.

X100VI - connection issue!

Has anyone managed to fix the X100VI + iPhone WiFi connection issue?

I’m losing my mind with this.

I managed to pair my iPhone with my X100VI via Bluetooth, but the WiFi connection simply doesn’t work. The phone connects to the camera WiFi network, but XApp still won’t connect to the camera.

Things I already tried:
• Forgot the Bluetooth device
• Forgot the camera WiFi network
• Turned Local Network permission ON
• Turned Private WiFi Address off and on
• Deleted the paired device from the camera and paired everything again
• Deleted/reinstalled XApp

My X100VI is running the latest firmware and XApp is updated to the latest version.

Nothing works. I’ve wasted over an hour trying to fix this and I’m seriously frustrated.

Any ideas before I give up on this app completely?

Update: SOLVED

This is what finally fixed the issue for me:

First, I unpaired/unregistered the camera from XApp.

Then I went to iPhone Settings → Wi-Fi → Edit and removed all saved Fuji camera Wi-Fi networks from the list.

After that, I paired the camera again through XApp.

A weekend spent in the "secret" nuclear bunker.

Shot on X-T5 with the Viltrox 13mm and Fuji 35mm f/2. During the heatwave, I spent a lovely, cool day exploring the nuclear bunker in Kelvedon Hatch.

It was a fascinating, albeit eerie, place to walk around, with desks in the dimly lit rooms highlighted by harsh desk lamps.

My 33 1.4 just arrived

Was debating weather I need it or not, already owning the 18f2 and 23 1.4 wr, I do not regret one bit getting it. Managed to find one like new at half its price here.
Didn’t manage to shoot anything due to a lack of time, but all the test pics I did around the house were very sharp and fast to focus, seems like a generation more advanced than my 23 1.4 wr, which is an unexpected surprise.
Above photo was shoot using the X-E5.
By the end of the year I’d like to have finished a couple lens and camera combo reviews with Fuji used for automotive photography.

XF 23mm f/2 owners: what am I not seeing?

I have a small three-prime collection:

Viltrox Air 35mm f/1.7
TTArtisan 56mm f/1.8
Fujifilm XF 23mm f/2

Ironically, the Fuji was the lens I was most excited to buy, but it's ended up being my least favourite.

The two cheaper lenses seem to have more character and a more unique rendering. By comparison, the XF 23mm f/2 often gives me images that feel a bit more like an upgraded smartphone photo. I've also been a little underwhelmed by the corner sharpness.

I'm curious if this is mainly the 23mm focal length, or if others have noticed something similar with this particular lens.

What has your experience been with the XF 23mm f/2? Is there something about its rendering that makes it a favourite for you, or did you have a similar impression?

X-E5 vs X-T50. Second body advice for a Sony user.

I am a new photographer who mostly had experience behind the computer editing video instead of behind the camera. Started photography within the past year and greatly enjoyed it and purchased a Sony a6700. It does everything well but does not excel in SOOC colors. A friend introduced me to Fujifilm and I have enjoyed the film simulation, compactness, and ease of use their x100vi provides. Finding out the viral hype and cost behind that camera however, I turned towards the more moderately priced X-E5 or X-T50 as my next best alternative.

Already having one camera body and a decent range of lenses, I am not interested in replacing my a6700 but rather accompanying it with a more portable, smaller, flatter companion. I live in Tokyo and am interested in exclusively using the 23mm pancake lens for street photography. I would like something I can slide in my jacket pocket or small backpack without having to carry my camera sling around everywhere as I do now.

I would like to hear from owners of either the X-E5 or X-T50 on why they chose the model they did, what they think it excels and lacks in, and what they recommend for me who values portability and compactness above all, closely followed by handling comfort and ease of use.

My current pros for the X-E5 are its rangefinder build, and slim and small size which allow for easy carry.

My cons are that it seems difficult to grip. I am a tall guy with large hands so I think I would need to buy aftermarket grip attachments. Does anyone have experience with those and if so, how do they help (or not). Or has the grip been fine without attachments?

I appreciate the built in flash on the X-T50 but would likely be buying a godox it30 pro for whichever camera I choose anyways so it would be irrelevant.

Thanks everyone :)

Talk me out of switching to sony/canon

Hi all, I shoot with an XT5 and a lot of lenses (16-80, 70-300, 150-600, 23 prime, 27 prime, 80 prime macro) and have been thinking of switching to a sony a6700 or canon r7 or maybe even full frame.

My primary shooting is street but I also like to shoot wildlife / birds. I mostly shoot when I travel but shoot local as well (im in north cal).

I originally bought the XT5 and into fuji all together for the recipies and dials. I wanted to have high quality pics and colors SOOC since I hate editting. Ive had the XT5 for about 3 years now. Lately ive noticed I really only shoot with reggies porta and I dont really switch between the recipes I have saved. I also mostly shoot in full auto so the dials arent that useful to me. I took a trip to costa rica and was shooting the wild life and realized I was getting a lot of misses due to auto focus ( and lack of user skill) being meh. My friend wanted to get into photography recently as well so I was doing some research and stumbled onto the sony a6400/a6700. The AF is insane and quality is similar if not better than my XT5. I was wondering if it would be worth selling my gear and switching to the sony system (or canon but I havent researched much on it yet). I did hear that the XT6 is rumored to have better AF but im skeptical lol.

I also really like to pixel peep and the 40MP on the XT5 is amazing, I test shot a bit inside best buy with the A6700 and the pixel peep was pretty good on it as well.

What do you guys think? I was thinking maybe keeping the XT5 and getting a nice prime and selling everything else and getting a sony. I know there are better wild life camera set ups out there but it looks like the A6700 is a good combo for the price range (looking at olympus as well)
