Promotion to blue belt!

2 years, 2 months and 10 days with training dropping a little over the summer.

I was hoping for promotion at some point in the future, but did not expect it at all! I am definitely a target now for some of the white belt guys, but I trust my coach and I know he has high standards.

It's funny because I had signed up to a competition as a white belt and now I'm definitely going to get smashed 😅

Any advice for settling into the new rank?

Border plants and garden advice

Hi all,

A newbie gardnener who has regularly killed mint plants and other "easy" things like tomatoes, fuschia bush and bay tree!

Keeping the dandelions and other weeds under control is a bit of an uphill battle.

I have a border which I'm trying to keep weed free by planting lavender and salvia hot lips and other flowers.

One lavender seems to be ok after reporting and the other seems to have died? Both bought from the same garden centre, but I'm struggling to tell of it's over/under watered, or if it didn't establish properly!

Soil feels dry and it's a mostly sunny border. I think the soil is more sandy with bits of pebbles, I don't think it's clay soil.

The garden is south westerly and this specific border is south easterly.

The other thing is the back border with roses, blueberry plant (1 fruit due to this year's earlier frost) and a raspberry plant.

Is there anything specific I'm getting wrong?

End of blue light rewards

Just woke up to an email saying they're stopping from 2nd August.

You don't get many perks from theis job, but come on!

Edit: Apologies, maybe blue light vouchers is a slightly different sub category of BLC
