Help! Is this normal after swab test?

Ladies, I am new to all of this...

Since having menstrual pain and pain when trying to insert anything in my vagina, I had my pelvic floor evaluated.

The professional found tight muscles and performed a swab test (qtip) Every point she put pressure on felt like burning! Literal fire!

The day after I started having a very very unpleasant burning sensation in the upper area, between the urethra and vaginal opening. It was so bad it kept me awake at night. I never experienced anything like that!

It lasted a few days, now it is more manageable but it's been a week since the test! Is this normal with vestibulodynia or is it more likely that I got an infection while having my muscles tested internally/genitals touched? I don't have other symptoms, just this burning thing!

Thank you!

Summer wave: near or not?

Hi! I am located in Italy and here we have very poor data about how Covid is doing right now. The few tests still carried out point to a very unrealistic 0.5% positivity rate.

How are things going where there is wastewater monitoring? Is the summer wave approaching or will it look like last year, where it was delayed and manifested in august/September?

I'm trying to manage medical and social appointments to keep safe. I hear of people with "colds" but the situation seems under control right now. Do you have data?

STI risk - please tell me if I'm paranoid

Hi! I just started a new relationship with a guy I've known for a long time and was friends with. I am a virgin and HIV, hepatitis, herpes clear, HPV vaccinated. I asked him if he considered appropriate to get tested and he said he'd find it unnecessary. He has only had protected encounters and never casually (and I trust him on that), with the only exception of a few oral (where he was the receiving end), the last one three months ago, with a girl he has dated for a few months. He says he's never had symptoms and the girl that was the giving part had no active lesions etc. I trust and love this guy and we would obviously use protections. I'm just scared of the diseases you can transmit just by contact (HPV and herpes are not curable so you just know it can happen) and of the opportunity of something going wrong and putting my health at risk. Am I being paranoid??? I'm new to all of this and I really don't know if I should insist or not. Is this excessive anxiety? Please share your stories!

Questioning myself in my new relationship

Hi! I am a 30 yo woman who's never had sex. I had a relationship in my early twenties that terminated because I didn't feel ready or interested in sexual activities. I loved kissing (no tongue though!), hugging, cuddling but as soon as he tried ti go further I would shut down. I noticed that while my body reacted by lubricating, I didn't feel turned on at all.

In general, I have libido, if I feel like it I pleasure myself but I see it as something that should be a me moment and not involve anyone else. Like... the thought of touching or engaging with other people's body fluids or genitalia just seems gross to me.

Ever since I've been questioning myself and came across the definition of asexuality, thought it fitted.

Now I'm in a tough situation... I fell in love with my male best friend who's had a crush on me for years. We live in opposite parts of the country and saw each other only once, will do it again in a month. When I met him I thought I would have second thoughts cause he's not my usual type physically, but nevertheless I found it extremely natural to hug and kiss him. I can't quite say if it's much different, but after seeing him I have thought a lot about physical sensations. I find myself imagining situations that could lead to sex and I can't understand what I feel about them. I can't tell if I actually want to do the deed with him and am just overly anxious, scared and maybe "I just have to try" or if I am just feeling aroused by the thought and I wouldn't actually want to do it in the situation. Like, I still consider sex awkward and gross and if I could decide whether or not to do it, I'd probably choose not to. But is my aversion a result of fear? Am I just curious? Am I feeling pressured to think about it and desire it not to let him down? How do I KNOW if I actually want to? I am questioning so much and am so anxious about his next visit... I don't want to lose him and I don't want to betray myself. But what would be betraying myself if I don't know what I want?
