I'm curating my laundry every week routine and I need help. I have a detergent and dryer sheets locked down, but I need help for that goes into the little tray: should I use a fabric softener, a rinse, or neither?

I am new to the brand of Downy and trying to figure out how it would make my laundry better if at all, or if I don't need certain products/should look at other brand (if the latter, which ones and what products?). I am asking all of this specifically in terms of fabric enhancers (I already have a detergent and dryer sheets that I like and work good)
