My DIY attic studio (R.O.T. Studios)

Still a WIP (and thus a bit of a mess) and has gone through a few changes already, but very happy with it :)

I like incorporating electronic organs a lot, in the first pic you see the mighty Yamaha Electone HX-1 with the big dual keyboard. I also have an Yamaha E-70-turned-rack-synth, Yamaha HS-6 and Elka Concorde 802-turned-rack-synth that still need to be finished and put in the studio.
You can see a WIP pic of the E-70 in the last photo. Gonna be a few more months before that is finished...

My Alesis Nitro e-kit has also been added to a lot, some DIY stuff too such as the splashes and ride cymbal.

For vocals it's almost always an old Behringer C-1, gives me a very wide range and the sound is nice and clean thanks to the acoustic treatment of the space.

There's also a DIY isocab in the vocal booth that works great, done several (metal) productions already with good reviews (at least in terms of sound lol). Mainly use my modified Marshall Park and my lovely Hotone Heart Attack as amps. SM-57 as the main mic, of course.

If Type O Negative wrote In The End (Linkin Park)

In The End but in the style of Type O Negative. Hope I did some justice to TON, they're not an easy band to get right. Gonna do more crossover stuff though, as it's fun to do :)

Linkin Park's 'In the End' in the style of Type O Negative

Hope I did them some justice, the sound of TON is not easy to get right and the vocals are so friggin' DEEP haha.

Definitely quite a bit out of my comfort zone but I think I did alright? :) You be the judge!

Created this from an E-70 organ's Flutes section, with heavy modifications. Orchestra section is still TODO. Also the LFO, paraphonic VCF and various modulation settings are still missing from the "Flutes" section.

2 oscillators with 10 harmonics each. Oscillators can be detuned. Both have their own envelope with 3 modes + repeating modes.

Oscillator 1 can be shifted down or up. Oscillator 2 can be amplitude modulated by 1, with 4 different harmonics.

Would love to hear your thoughts on this. (not my project/band but I did do mixing)

I personally love it as it is really pure in its delivery and though it is Black Metal it defo has some mild Death Metal influence which are genres that go great together IMO :)

Here's what the publisher says about them:
Drang (English: Urge) was formed by Wolvengeest as a way to express politically-fueled anger & societal rage, made more personal by using the artist’s native Dutch language as a vehicle to convey these messages. The lyrics on De Doorbraak (English: The Breakthrough) reflect on radicalization, organization, camaraderie, & self-actualization. Seven songs packed with blazing riffs, aggressive vocals, & second wave black metal-inspired production & mixing.
