Hi all, I thought I would share my experience with my UK 2021 CX5 on here as I have seen a few others share similar issues.

I have suffered with the windscreen rattle that a lot of other people seem to have experienced. I tried everything, removing the windscreen, lubricating the rubber window seals, adding foam into the pillars and between the dash and windscreen, nothing. And to make matters worse, dealers wouldn’t help me at all. The rattle would conveniently go away whenever I take it to the garage, and when they did hear it, they couldn’t diagnose it. It has been a nightmare to drive especially in the summer when it gets even worse…I drive atleast 1-3 hours a day and it mentally made me hate the car.

When I bought it last year, I loved it, and it does drive exceptionally well. It was a 2.0L non turbo but it was enough for what I wanted. The interior was pretty luxurious for the price, kitted out nicely and I couldn’t have imagined driving anything else.

But as of today, the car has now been sold, and whilst I could go for another cx5, I don’t want to risk it happening again. I’m sure I’ll return to this in a couple of years time as, as a car, it’s amazing, but for now, I need something that I actually want to drive!

Side note - If anyone else is experiencing this, getting a silicone spray lubricant and spraying it along the rubber window joints inside and out seem to temporarily fix it for me, but it always came back.
