Board of Ethics meets Thursday to review city ethics rules and consider proposed changes to oversight and accountability structures.

Busy week with the City Council, Commission on Aging, Parks and Recreation Commission, Safety Wellness and Youth Committee, Cultural Heritage Board, and Economic Development Committee meeting.

The city council waived the sunshine ordinance to appoint the city attorney. They will also consider disciplinary action for the city manager.

The Board of Public Utilities voted unanimously to forward the increase to the City Council, which holds a public hearing June 23.

An internal investigation found two code enforcement supervisors spent years allegedly harassing immigrant street vendors, including entering homes without warrants and seizing property.

They are also well known for harassing unhoused people and ignoring slum lords.

When police abuse, injure, or kill people with disabilities or mental health issues it will be their fault for not having a clear label instead of the officers fault. We could just stop using the police for stops but we are doing this instead.

City Council takes up a homeless transfer notice ordinance, a police body camera contract, and proposed utility rate changes as six boards and commissions hold their regular meetings June 8–11.

They are recommending increasing the Sheriff's budget yet again to $1.2 billion dollars. The Sheriff's get over half the "public safety" budget while public defenders get 3% and fire gets about 25%

Personally I would want a 15-20 dollar donation limit. You should be able to run on local support that almost anybody can afford to donate. Big budget donors shouldn't give you a louder voice.
