Back into Mopar after 5 years away… 392 Widebody!
5 years after selling my Scat Pack Charger, I’m back with an upgrade. In 2021 I was forced to move to a more fuel efficient vehicle after changing jobs and losing my company car and gas card. So, I went to a Tesla and loved it (Still own an EV for daily driving and family use, Audi RS E-Tron GT). Last year I got a C7 Corvette for the “fun” V8 and had a blast with it, however… the area I’m in and the driving I normally do did not allow me to rev out the high RPM Corvette. So, 80-90% of the time, I was in a high RPM horsepower and handling monster that I couldn’t open up at all. To top it off, my AOO has terrible roads and the C7 had several bent rims and 2 blown shocks from the stiff and low suspension not playing well with our Texas roads.
Started Mopar searching last month and finally pulled the trigger last week. Got slightly more than I paid for the C7 (minus mods 😢) to move to a 2020 Challenger 392 Widebody. Single owner, 21,000 miles, garage kept and MINT condition. I looked at several Cats as well, but couldn’t justify another 30k for a supercharger I, once again, can’t use very often. The low end grunt of the 392 is glorious and I instantly remembered why I loved Mopar so much before. Can’t wait to start modding the car and getting a little more power out of it, but man this thing is amazing around town. Feels faster than the C7 just due to the torque curve, even though it most definitely is not faster.
Planning on powder coating the wheels, darker tint this week, and some bolt on mods/e85 flex fuel kit soon. LTH/Cam will be happening by years end as well! #moparornocar
