A working man’s beer and a working man’s gun

[guns and alcohol do not mix!]

My beautiful LCR .357 pictured next to one of the cheap beers in my rotation. I want to make it clear that I don’t mess with my guns when drinking. Just took a photo with today’s carry piece after I cracked a cold one to end the weekend.

Brought all 3 today, just to compare

Today I brought my 17, 19, and 34 (all gen 5’s) to the range. I’ve never shot all 3 back to back and was just curious to see the results.

I shoot the 34 best, followed by the 19 and then the 17. I think with more time I will shoot the 17 better than the 19, but since I’ve had the 19 for years and just got the 17 recently, I just haven’t quite gotten used to it yet. I got the 17 to turn into my purpose built home defense pistol. I plan to get a light and OWB holster for it. To be honest, if I would have shot it first I probably would have just bought another 34! I love that thing.

Anyways, this basically confirmed what I know. The 19 is awesome as a carry gun, and I shoot it well. The 34 is badass and there’s a reason why I shoot it competitively. The 17 is alright lol. Now all I need is the 26 and my collection is complete!

Weight lifting routine help

Looking for some help here. I never really did anything physical before I joined the army, and my prep for basic was just rucking a lot and starting to jog (lost 100 pounds to ship). I haven’t lifted weights in probably 10 years and just don’t know what I’m doing.

Can you recommend a basic weight lifting routine I could add to my schedule, or some resources where I could learn more? I really don’t know what I’m doing and am new at my unit so don’t know who to ask for help yet. Looking for 3 days a week. I run 3 days a week and then just do a basic core circuit the other 3 days, then rest Sunday. Trying to focus on stuff that supports the AFT. I really have no clue what I’m doing so even just asking chat gpt to generate a routine for me leads to me having to look up what every single lift is. TIA!

34 vs 17L

I bought a Glock 34 last year and absolutely love it. I’ve shot a few comps with it and have had a bunch of trigger time otherwise. I keep seeing pictures of the 17L online and it just intrigues the caveman part of my brain. I know it isn’t legal in carry comp for USPSA, and realistically it probably doesn’t do anything that my 34 doesn’t, but I’m just curious what people who own either/both have to say about the differences.

Tattoos

I want to get a new tattoo soon and want some sort of tattoo to commemorate my service. Is there such a thing as a not cringy army tattoo? Everything I see online looks either boot camp as fuck or “mmm badass” lol.
