Outfit ideas?

Hi fairies!!

I’m super excited to see Paris in September for my birthday!! One of my friends is coming into town for it as I just moved to a new city. Right now, we are trying to figure out what to wear and we know we want to be corresponding but not necessarily matching. Neither of us really have something we’d want to wear so we’re both planning to buy something.

What have you worn? Where’d you get it? And what should we be thinking about?

I’m SO excited (this is my fourth attempt to see her) and cannot wait.

Recs for a small space

I’m searching for the best vacuum on a budget for a small space, likely a handheld or stick vacuum.

I have a small apartment (<400 sq ft) with a tiny amount of storage and a German Shepherd who sheds like crazy. I want a vacuum to clean my vents, filters, small area rugs, couch, my car, and refresh my mattress annually. I have a robo-vacuum (FB marketplace for $20) to handle the fur on the floor regularly and now I’m searching for something small, compact, aggressive on dog fur, and cost-effective.

I’m kind of a fish out of water when searching for vacuums and would like an idea of what to search for, I have a Costco membership so something available there or likely available on FB marketplace would be great! Ideally it’ll be <$200 and I’m happy to be patient for a good deal.

Let me hear your recommendations vacuum experts!

CV/Resume in Grad School

I’m starting graduate school in September and I’m curious what to keep from my undergraduate on my CV/resume.

I intend to apply for various applications and thus keep a relatively up to date CV/resume for when the application deadlines arrive, such as the NSF GRFP.

Obviously I’ll have the standard stuff, including education history, anticipated graduation year, graduate research group, research responsibilities/skills, and publications.

But my question more arises from the fact that in undergraduate, I presented 10+ national presentations (technical talks and posters), 15+ local presentations (also technical talks and posters), had numerous sets of media coverage over national awards and for my university, department/university/national level scholarships/awards, national fellowships, competitive internships, and two first author publications—should these and things from my undergraduate including courses, campus involvement (clubs, programs, volunteering), and job experience, remain on my now graduate level CV/resume?

I know that I’ll have to remove things from my undergrad documents on my graduate documents but I want to make sure that I’m removing the ‘right’ stuff.

For added context, I’m in the US and my field is chemistry/materials.

Dog groomers for big dogs?

Hi everyone!

I moved here in early June and have been completely settling in with my German Shepherd, Zeus (~4 yrs, 95 lbs). I looked at my dog’s nails and they’re in desperate need of a trim :/, he doesn’t mind when I try them with a nail dermal but I’d prefer to get him settled with a groomer. He’s very sweet with no aggression history, has some allergies that haven’t been completely diagnosed so a groomer would need to be careful around his ears, and isn’t a fan of dryers. He’s muzzle, harness, and leash trained with overall great behavior.

He previously went to a home groomer and was typically the only dog at a time, ideally we’d find someone similar and I’m willing to drive him if there’s a good groomer outside of Seattle. I’d prefer to not pay too much, but I know that’s a miracle in this area. Does anyone have recommendations for a good groomer and their approximate prices? Or are there any groomers I should avoid?

Thanks in advance

When should I tell a perspective landlord about my service dog?

As the title suggests, I’m moving and need to get a new lease, when should I tell my perspective landlord/leasing office that I have a service dog?

I’m moving from university housing that had very clear service dog policies/notification procedures and this is my first independent lease, which is further complicated by needing a place quickly and not being able to see places myself prior to signing as I’m over 2,400 miles away.

The building and HOA is not pet-friendly and the place I am most interested in has an independent landlord and not apart of a huge leasing office—although if this doesn’t work out, I’ll likely have to go to a huge leasing company based on the Seattle, WA housing market. I’m at the point where I need to submit a credit and background check with a $50 non-refundable fee, but prior to doing so, should I tell the landlord that I have a service dog or should I wait until after signing a lease? Any advice about how to navigate this situation is greatly appreciated!!
