Grass Valley LDX C135 camera making skin red and splotchy

I walked by this camera earlier and noticed I looked diseased. A coworker with slightly darker skin had the same issue. The odd thing is, we’ve been running events in here for two days with no issue. We futzed with the color in the Creative Grading app and got rid of the diseased skin, but now everything is a bit jaundiced. I haven’t had this issue with a camera before, but also haven’t used this specific camera with the video wall & very bright room I’m now working with. Has anyone else had this problem with GV or other cameras?

Things said behind my back

I’m tired, y’all. I just started a new role a couple months ago after 6 weeks in a job I HAAAAAATED and 8 months of unemployment before that. During my first project, I was told by a really cool field engineer that they sent him to work on a project because they were afraid my new team of two women were too liberal and the other guys wouldn’t want to work with us. When I met a new engineer yesterday, he told me that he had heard complaints that most of the people I’d recommended to work on our team were women. To be fair, it’s a very male-dominated field, so a) the hardest working people I know are women and b) all the men I’d want to work with are already in cushy roles.

I’m 46. I have a mortgage and a child, both of which I am solely financially responsible for. I can’t just go do something else. I figure I can probably stop working in tech in 6 years when the kid graduates. If I’d had the luxury of just being able to do my job and not required to constantly prove myself despite having stellar experience, I would be so much further along in life. I’m so tired of fielding this kind of nonsense. I’m in a field that’s 9% women and only 2% women in technical roles. This is part of the reason I’ve been able to bring new clients on in the first place- women are tired of the mansplaining and I’ll actually listen to what they need. But no, the dude who works in the middle of nowhere and hasn’t landed a client yet is the one who’s being catered to. They’re even considering opening an office near him instead of near me. I’m geographically closer to the bulk of our potential client base and I’d actually work from the office- he has no intention of ever working from anywhere but home.

I don’t know if I want spectacular success at this company to prove them wrong or if I just want to survive until I can stop working in tech. Either way, I’m losing my will to put up with this shit.

Cockroach Extermination

I somewhat suddenly have cockroaches for the first time since I bought my house 4 years ago. I saw one a couple months ago, hoped it came in with groceries or something, and hoped even harder that killing the one I saw would do the trick. When I saw a second one a couple weeks later, I got roach bait. I’m ready to admit that I need professional help before it gets especially terrible.

Can anyone recommend a company that worked for them and let me know roughly how much they were? I have no clue how much this kind of thing is supposed to cost and I’d love to hear from someone who had success.
