Have We Actually Got the Better End of the Deal?

I think something changes after you’ve been doing this for long enough, because eventually you stop comparing everything to what you used to eat. That’s where I am now (finally). There are treats I genuinely think are better than their conventional counterparts, and gf bread has also gone from something I expected to tolerate to something I actually prefer. If I suddenly had the ability to consume gluten again, I genuinely don’t think I’d change the way I eat.

Anything you still miss at this point?

Mesh Wi-Fi: genuinely useful or massively overprescribed?

Mesh gets recommended for almost every Wi-Fi problem now.

It definitely has its place, but I still think a properly positioned wired AP beats throwing wireless mesh nodes around the house and hoping the backhaul behaves.

For people who’ve run both, would you still choose wired APs whenever running Ethernet is realistically possible?

How much do you actually trust unattended upgrades in production?

I’ve always been fairly conservative with automatic updates on production boxes.

Patching is one thing, but I still prefer knowing exactly what changed, especially when an update can quietly restart something or introduce behaviour you only discover at 2am. At the same time, manually babysitting updates across a growing number of hosts starts becoming its own risk.

For those managing a decent number of boxes, where have you landed on this? Fully automated, staged, or are you still reviewing most updates before they go anywhere near prod?

The Sin You Keep Returning To

Many of us know what it’s like to ask God for forgiveness over the same sin again and again. It can feel exhausting and hopeless. But the fact that you are still fighting is evidence that your heart has not surrendered to it. The enemy wants you to believe that because you struggle, you belong to your sin. Christ says otherwise. Get back up. Repent again. Keep walking. A righteous man falls seven times and rises again.

The Loneliest Seasons Often Produce the Strongest Believers

Some seasons feel painfully quiet. Friends drift away. Relationships end. The phone stops ringing. But God often does His deepest work when distractions are removed. Loneliness can become isolation if we’re not careful, but it can also become intimacy with God. Don’t waste the season. Let it draw you closer to the One who promised never to leave nor forsake you.

Christ is the only answer

The s**cide epidemic is heartbreaking, far too many people are suffering in silence. If you’re in that place right now, or you know someone who is, please reach out and don’t face it alone. Get the help you need, but also turn to Christ. When life feels completely hopeless, He offers a hope this world cannot give. Your darkest moment does not have to be your final one.

Lay hold of His garment & He will meet you with peace that surpasses all understanding 🤍 A peace beyond anything this world can offer

"Do not be anxious about anything... And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7

God Hasn't Forgotten You

If you're in a season where prayers seem unanswered or life feels heavier than usual, remember that silence isn't the same as absence. Some of the greatest stories in Scripture include long periods of waiting, yet God remained faithful through every moment.

You may not see the full picture today, but God is still working in ways you can't yet understand. Keep praying, keep trusting, and don't give up hope. Even a small step of faith is precious to Him.

"Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the Lord." - Psalm 31:24

Why Is Refusing To Resign Treated Like A Crime?

Maybe i'm missing something, but why is the never say die mentality frowned upon? If I'm in a terrible position but still a possibility I can pull a stalemate out of my arse, why wouldn't I go for it?
