I’m in a very difficult situation right now and I genuinely need help from anyone who has faced something similar with Microsoft/BitLocker recovery.

A few months ago I bought a new Lenovo ThinkBook 16 laptop. During the initial Windows setup, I was creating a new Outlook/Microsoft account. Every username combination I tried was unavailable, so I finally selected one of the suggested Outlook IDs generated by Microsoft.

That was my biggest mistake.

I never wrote down the email ID anywhere because I assumed I would always have access to the laptop. I also never backed up my data externally because this was my personal device.

A week ago, after a Windows update, my laptop suddenly booted into the BitLocker recovery screen asking for the recovery key. From what I understand, the recovery key was automatically saved to my Microsoft account.

The problem is:

I do not remember the Outlook email ID at all.

I only have the phone number linked to the account.

I still have access to the recovery email linked to that account.

I can prove ownership of the laptop if needed.

This laptop contains years of my personal memories, family photos, research documents, projects, and important files. None of them have backups. I honestly feel devastated and helpless right now.

I have tried Microsoft support, but I’m unable to reach an actual human or find a proper way to explain my situation. Most support pages just redirect me in circles.

I have tried getting all mail id linked to my phone number. It showed up incomplete usernames filled with stars as shown in the picture I posted.

If anyone here knows:

How to recover/find the Outlook username using phone number or recovery email

How to directly contact Microsoft account recovery or BitLocker support

Any legitimate method to identify the Microsoft account linked to a Windows laptop

Or any other possible solution

Please help me. Even small suggestions would mean a lot right now.

After updating my windows a bitlocker recovery key is asked every time I tried to boot up my laptop. I don't remember when did I enabled secure boot and where did I saved my bitlocker key.

I checked with all microsoft account I have, in none of the accounts I am able to find the key.

I even tried disabling secure boot from bios settings. Still bitlocker key is asked everytime upon system bootup. I tried restarting my laptop several times as recommended by some users, it didn't fixed my issue.

I have brought the laptop recently and moved all of my personal data including pictures, videos and documents to my laptop. I don't have any backup of my personal data.

I am seeking for any help other than resetting the laptop as it will erase my entire data stored in laptop.
