Thinking of wearing thin wool socks and crocs for portages. Feet will be wet from canoe landings, but is this a good way to do it? Looking for any suggestions. Thanks all

Last time I used my Lifestraw filter was almost a year ago in the Boundary Waters. Can I run it back with the same filter, or is a new filter a safer bet? Thanks in advance.
