How much profit did we make?

If someone asked you right now:

“How much profit did your business make last month?”

Can you answer it immediately?

Not revenue. Not the money in the bank. Actual profit.

And what about:

  • Which leads converted best in the last 3 months?
  • What is our average sales value?
  • Which customers still have pending payments?
  • How much inventory do we have?
  • What are our biggest expenses?
  • Are sales actually improving month on month?

For most small businesses, this information is available somewhere.

The problem is that it is usually spread across accounting software, CRM, spreadsheets, invoices, inventory systems and sometimes even someone’s memory.

So getting a simple answer can take more time than it should.

I am curious how other small-business owners manage this.

Do you have one place where you can see the numbers that matter, or are you still bringing information together from different systems?

And what is the one thing you wish your business software could do automatically?

Looking for a GTM Engineer / Consultant

Hey everyone, I’m a co-founder of an early-stage SaaS startup, and we’re looking for someone who has experience building GTM from the ground up.

We’re at the stage where the product is ready with few clients already in trial period, now we want to figure out what actually works when it comes to getting paid customers.

Ideally, you’ve worked hands-on with things like outbound, lead generation, prospecting, AI/no-code automation, GTM experiments, etc.

This would be a consulting/fractional engagement, working directly with the founders. Since we’re early stage, there’s plenty of room to experiment and shape the approach rather than just follow an existing process.

If you’ve done this kind of work and enjoy the zero to one stage, I’d love to hear from you. Feel free to DM me with a bit about your experience and what kind of engagement you usually take on.

Small business owners: how are you managing admin chaos? Here's what we learned from 50+ conversations.

Running a small business myself, I always assumed I was just bad at staying organized. Receipts piling up in WhatsApp, follow-ups I'd forget, end-of-month reconciliation that made me want to shut the laptop and walk away.

When my partner and I started comparing notes with other business owners - contractors, agencies, service folks - we found the same patterns everywhere. Figured I'd share what actually stood out:

The hidden time killers nobody talks about:

- Most people complain about finding customers. But the owners we spoke to? They were bleeding time on stuff that happens after the sale.

- Bank reconciliation was universally hated. One guy told us he sets aside an entire Sunday monthly just to match transactions. His wife calls it "sad spreadsheet day."

- The app-switching tax is real. Average count was 5-6 tools. CRM doesn't talk to accounting. WhatsApp has the actual conversation. Nothing connects.

- Following up on quotes is where money dies quietly. Not because people don't care - they just genuinely forget. One contractor estimated he loses 2-3 jobs monthly to this.

- Receipts in WhatsApp are a graveyard. Everyone forwards bills and invoices there. Nobody has a system for getting them out.

The uncomfortable truth:

- Most of these aren't hard problems. They're just tedious and repetitive. The owners who had solved it either hired admin help (expensive) or built elaborate personal systems (not scalable).

- We ended up building a tool around this - runs inside WhatsApp since that's where the chaos lives anyway. Opened it up for signups mid-July. Still early days, still learning what works and what doesn't.

But honestly, the conversations were more valuable than anything we built. Changed how I think about what "running a business" actually means day-to-day.

Anyone else find that the unglamorous back-office stuff eats more time than the actual work?

Built something to fix our own chaos. Now other business owners keep asking for it.

We run a small business in UAE. Built an internal AI tool to escape our own admin nightmare. 3 months later - 14 - 20 hours of weekly admin work, gone. Books, leads, inventory - all up to date. Sales guy actually selling again.

One AI assistant. Five roles. Runs entirely on WhatsApp:

- Snap a receipt - data extracted, expense logged. Done.

- Voice note a lead update: tracker updated before you finish your coffee

- Quotes & invoicing: helps in creating quotes and invoices

- Stock running low? - you'll know before you're making panic calls to suppliers

- Bank transactions? - matched, categorized, reconciled. Automatically.

- Morning brief: your entire day's priorities, delivered to WhatsApp before 8 AM

- E-invoicing — UAE compliant, ready to go

AI proposes. You approve. Nothing hits your books without your sign-off.

One AI assistant doing the work of five roles: sales, finance, ops, purchasing, and personal assistant. And the best part: AI proposes, you approve. Nothing touches your books without your sign-off.

We're UAE-based, built this for UAE businesses, and already integrated with Zoho.

If this sounds useful, reach out. DM me or drop a comment - happy to show you how it works.

UAE e-invoicing compliance is coming. We built a WhatsApp-based AI assistant to help SMEs get ready - taskezy.ae

If you're running a small business in the UAE, you've probably heard about the upcoming e-invoicing requirements. For most of us with lean teams, "compliance" usually means more admin work, more software, more headaches.

We run a small business ourselves and saw this coming. Instead of scrambling later, we built something that handles compliance and a whole lot more - without adding another dashboard to check.

It's an AI assistant that works entirely through WhatsApp. Yes, it keeps your invoicing e-compliant. But here's where it gets interesting:

- Snap a receipt - data extracted, expense logged. Done.

- Voice note a lead update: tracker updated before you finish your coffee

- Quotes & invoicing: helps in creating quotes and invoices

- Stock running low? - you'll know before you're making panic calls to suppliers

- Bank transactions? - matched, categorized, reconciled. Automatically.

- Morning brief: your entire day's priorities, delivered to WhatsApp before 8 AM

Small business owners: how many hours a week do you actually lose to "operations"?

We run a smart home automation business in Dubai. Small team, tight margins, everyone wearing five hats. A few months ago, I realized something brutal: we were paying skilled people to do unskilled work. Our sales guy was updating spreadsheets instead of closing deals. I was doing bank reconciliation at midnight. Receipts piled up. Follow-ups slipped. Leads went cold.

Sound familiar? We tried the tool out there. CRMs. Expense apps. Project trackers. Each one promised to "simplify" operations. Each one added another dashboard, another login, another thing nobody opened.

So we built the opposite. One AI assistant. Five operational roles. Zero new apps. We call her Tia. She lives in WhatsApp and handles:

  • Sales - lead tracking, quotes, follow-up reminders before prospects go cold
  • Finance - snap a receipt, she extracts it. Bank transactions? Matched and categorized.
  • Inventory - alerts before you're scrambling for stock
  • Purchasing - POs, supplier tracking, bill matching
  • Personal assistant - morning brief with your priorities, reminders and more

The key? Tia proposes, you approve. One tap. She never posts anything to your books without your sign-off. AI does the grunt work, you stay in control. Three months in: our books are updated daily by 8 AM. Our sales guy actually sells. And we clawed back 22 hours a week of admin time across the team.

We built this for ourselves, but every SME owner we talked to had the same problem. So we designed it to plug into the tools you already use.

We're opening this up to a small group of early users - free of cost.

If you're tired of your best people doing your worst work, drop a comment or DM. We'd love to get this in your hands.

We pay my sales guy to close deals. He spends 30% of his time on spreadsheets. This is insane.

We run a smart home automation business.

Last week I watched our sales guy whom we're paying to bring in revenue - spend his evening updating expense entries and logging leads into a tracker. Meanwhile, 3 prospects from last week sat unfollowed. One of them went cold. We didn't hire him to be an admin. But that's what we turned him into.

Most SMEs does this. You have a small team, so everyone wears multiple hats. But "multiple hats" somehow always includes "unpaid data entry clerk."

We decided to stop accepting this.

So we built Tia - an AI assistant that lives in WhatsApp and handles your operations:

- Snap a receipt? Tia extracts the data and proposes the entry. You approve with one tap.

- New lead? Update it via WhatsApp - Tia keeps your tracker current.

- Quote sent 5 days ago? Tia reminds you before it goes cold.

- Running low on stock? Alert before you're scrambling.

- Morning brief? Your day's priorities, delivered before your coffee.

No new software. No dashboards to check. Just WhatsApp.

And when you need the full picture, there's a portal where you log in and see everything in real-time. Leads, expenses, inventory. Best of both worlds.

The key? Tia never posts anything without your approval. AI handles the grunt work, you stay in control.

We're opening a free trial waitlist - but keeping it small. Limited spots, first come first served. We want to onboard properly and actually listen to feedback.

We built this because we needed it ourselves. If you're tired of your best people doing your worst work, time to hire Tia!

Please share your comments and I am happy to answer questions.
