TERFs have shot themselves in the foot imo

by reducing us down to a third sex and having essentially said in the guidance “provide a third space or make everything mixed”, they have pretty much just speed ran us having gender neutral toilets as the default.

The majority of businesses don’t have the space or money to provide three separate spaces, and it’s disproportionate and discriminatory to not provide us with a space at all, so I look forward to all the TERF tears that are going to flow when the majority of businesses decided to abolish single-sex facilities altogether because it’s simply the most cost effective and least risky route to go down.

Hilariously even TERFs are already complaining about it, they don’t want third spaces, they want us to be iced out of society or be at risk of violence, no in between.

I just sold my first print without even trying!

A complete fluke actually, I’ve been doing street and architecture photography for a fair while but I don’t claim to be a professional photographer nor have I ever advertised selling prints, somebody just happened to stroll upon my instagram and saw a building I had captured in London that their friend happened to be obsessed with.

So now a piece of my art is going to be sat in somebody else’s house halfway across the world. What an insane feeling that I honestly never thought I’d feel.

What would quality of life be like for a trans EMTs\Paramedic?

Hello

I am from the UK and I am an EMT who will be qualifying as a Paramedic here, but I am considering relocation to Canada in the future - I am also a transsexual woman.

Let’s say I move to a city considered to be queer friendly, and enter the EMS workforce, what is my quality of life potentially going to look like? Are the cities generally welcoming of trans people? For anyone working in EMS, what is the culture like, not just for trans people but women in general?

This may be best asked in an EMS specific sub but I thought I’d ask here as I’m curious about daily life too.

I’m planning on moving in with a friend in a month as her current house is moving out.

We initially thought I’d just take over the tenancy however the letting agent came back and told us that they want me as a “permitted occupant” as the landlord anticipates wanting to sell the house in the “near future”, my guess is they want to avoid giving a 12 month protected tenancy due to the new renters rights bill coming in tomorrow.

The friend I’m moving back in with wants to pushback on this and get me added to the tenancy, so we’re currently holding off agreeing to anything at the moment, but the letting agent has now come back to me saying that:

“as we’re not adding you to the ADT, we require the following information for referencing

Last 3 months bank statements

Last 3 payslips

A landlord reference from your previous address and Landlords details – phone and email address

Employment details – phone and email address with a contact name

Your latest Experian Credit report”

I’m a bit iffy about giving so much information particularly with regards to bank statements and a credit report, it feels overly intrusive given I won’t be getting any tenancy rights? I’ve never been asked for this level of information even when I’ve rented normally. I don’t have any CCJs or Bankruptcy but I made some mistakes when I was younger so my credit admittedly isn’t the best as I have a debt management plan in place (but not a formal DRO or anything) and those original debts have been listed as defaults. Equally I’m not overdrawn but I do tend to move money in and out of savings pots and my credit union account as a means of managing my spending so my bank statements are a bit all over the place

I’ve never been a permitted occupant before but my understanding is that I’m not financially liable as I’m not on the tenancy and would be paying rent via the named tenant

Edit to add: I’m in England
