realestate.com.auLooking for some advice on getting my lawn back into decent shape
Ive recently moved in and the lawn is pretty patchy with lots of brown areas, weeds and random clumps of greener grass
Does anyone know what type of grass this is?
Is it worth trying to save, or would you start again?
What’s the best plan of attack? Weed first, fertilise, overseed, top dress, or something else?
I’m in Melbourne, any advice would be appreciated! 🙏

forbes.comWhat’s this gap under my brick veneer wall - can I cover it without causing drainage issues?
Found this small gap at the base of an external brick veneer wall on my house. It appears to open into the cavity behind the bricks. It’s right next to some copper plumbing and a downpipe, and there are normal weep holes elsewhere along the wall.
My concern is pests getting in. I’m hesitant to just seal it because I’m not sure if it’s meant to be there.
Does this look like:
• deteriorated/missing mortar at the base course
• a former service penetration
• a drainage or ventilation opening
• something else?
There is an open pipe inside but it’s full of dirt.
If it should stay open, is stainless steel mesh the best way to block pests while keeping airflow/drainage? Or is it fine to fully seal since I’ve got proper weep holes elsewhere?
Thanks in advance for any help!
