Any South Sound districts or arts programs I should keep an eye on as a new choir/music educator?

Hi everyone! I recently graduated from PLU with a degree in Choral Music Education and am currently looking for full-time secondary music/choir or performing arts opportunities in the South Sound area for the 2026–27 school year.

I’m especially interested in middle/high school choir, musical theatre collaboration, and culturally responsive music education. I’ve been watching district postings (Federal Way, Tacoma, Bethel, Franklin Pierce, etc.), but I figured I’d ask here in case anyone knows of openings, upcoming retirements, or districts/schools with strong arts programs worth keeping an eye on.

Would really appreciate any insight or connections. Thank you!

Feeling really unsupported trying to navigate HRT with chronic illness

I honestly just need advice/support from other trans women right now because I’m feeling really defeated.

I’m a 23 y/o t-girly who started estrogen recently and my doctors initially put me on weekly patches because I have sickle cell disease and clot risk concerns. The problem is the patches have been a complete nightmare. They keep falling off even with Tegaderm, different placement spots, etc. My pharmacy has reached out to my clinic multiple times and somehow I’ve now gone almost 2 weeks without consistent estrogen because of refill issues and patch failures.

I’ve been messaging my primary care team about my issues and also the inquiry of switching to injections and I just feel kind of ghosted and uncared for at this point. I understand they’re probably trying to be cautious because of my medical history, but emotionally this has been horrible. I’ve also started having severe daily nausea and just generally feel awful and dysregulated.

What makes it worse is my dad has been extremely unsupportive through all of this and basically told me I shouldn’t continue transitioning, which really got in my head during an already vulnerable moment.

I guess I’m just looking for advice from other trans women who have dealt with complicated medical situations, clot concerns, bad patch experiences, switching to injections, feeling unsupported by providers/family, etc. Right now I just feel exhausted and kind of alone in this. Any advice I would very much greatly admire.
