Fantastic short documentary about American Jews

In this documentary, Dr. Simran Jeet Singh visits leaders and community members at three historic Jewish communities to learn about how they've helped shape and been shaped by America. And he speaks with a group of young Jews about how they balance the desire to preserve Jewish traditions with the realities of living in modern America.

A Link Between the Gut Microbiome and Post-Exertional Malaise

I just found this study from 2015 that explains a lot. I haven't seen it discussed much so thought I'd share.

The study looked at changes to bacteria levels in the gut and bloodstream after an exercise challenge with ME/CFS patients and controls.

>At 72 hours there were significant increases in 7 of 9 major bacteria classes (called phyla) in ME/CFS patients compared to only 2 of 9 in healthy volunteers suggesting the exercise challenge caused an increased bacterial load in patients. While bacterial sequences were detected in the blood of both ME/CFS patients and healthy controls, there were rapid increases in specific bacterial clusters were detected in the blood of ME/CFS patients and the rate that bacteria was cleared from the blood differed for patients.

Basically, you get a temporary increase in leaky gut after exercise. ME/CFS patients get a massive increase in bacteria entering the blood compared to healthy people, and we take a lot longer to clear it from the blood.

JLo's son supports Palestinian violence as she beams with pride

JLo posts a photo to social media about how proud she is of her kids for winning scholarships, while her son wears a shirt reading "by any means necessary." Clearly she is supportive of this message or she would not allow him to wear the shirt for a photo intended for dissemination to the public.
