Hey, it's me again! So I'm really getting jaded on these friggin' Fresh Truck days. I feel bad asking for rides to/from and I always get a not-so-great response each time I ask. But I do it anyways, in spite of how much hell it can be.
I've gone over the ride problems in past posts, TLDR I live in *somewhat* walking distance but have to make shady sprints across busy roads, don't have my car up-and-running yet and rely on another for rides, etc.
Anyways, I was told by my boss that calling out is "unacceptable" as schedules are planned and out 3 weeks in advance. I got a lengthier response in-person a few Fresh Truck shifts later saying I can't get shift changes or anything unless I take up being a Key Holder or whatever they call it - basically making the store's "bitch" in my own cynical way of wording it?
I just...don't want to be stuck on this permanent Fresh Truck BS. It's like warfare. Customers piling up as soon as I get in the zone; my damn knees despite being just shy of 20, and my coworkers basically abandoning me as soon as the other worker gets in, leaving me to deal with 2 or sometimes 3 rolltainers, let's not forget the juice and tea overstock and the totes.
But we finally have some friggin' more Sales Associates! But I know like nothing about them. Neither do the other workers. We just know their names. I'd kill for one of those folks to take my spot, or at least make Fresh interchangeable between the "fodder" Sales Associates. Have whoever the 2 new folks are go for it; I'm all burnt out.
I just wanna call out before this Wednesday. I'm not sick - well I mean I can be a little nauseous in the mornings so I could fake something - but I just need a sec away from these abysmal shifts.
TLDR; Can I like...call in? Just skip out on this Fresh Truck because I need a breather? I dunno, I always get like crippling paranoia when asking for much. We have two more Sales Associates finally so like...get me out of here haha. Same shit for getting a ride to work, that paranoid feeling. Same deal how I didn't know I had permission to do 30-min breaks on 6hr/longer shifts, basically working the entire time like a friggin machine because I never asked but no one ever really told me.

Heyo folks! Sadly nothing yet on LR4's next single. Maybe next week will yield some killa news! I come asking a different question though; what did happen to LR's independent label, Supercolour?
It was coined during the production of Supervision; and it was how we got the album distributed all over. But with Old Flames now 3-months soon on the horizon, I (for whatever reason 😆) just now noticed it's being published under Vertigo Records. Now I'm all still new to the LR advents prior to 2023. Maybe this was talked about some time ago?
Additionally, I have another question! When I did some digging to find the record label names and all that, I heard of an unreleased ninth track for SV, and that it might have been, at one point, ready for Old Flames as well? The track was called "People Around Here", or some variation thereof. There's additional tracks I remember hearing about before LR4 was officially announced, back when it was all speculative. "Thanks For Having Me" was one, there might have been one more? Either way - I'm left with a ton of questions about the allure and mystique around lost LR tracks. Think they're for this fourth album? Maybe even the fifth and/or beyond?

Hey folks! This post isn't Old Flames related - or maybe it is IDK - but this recently caught my eye again. I remember seeing LR post a short video with this displaying she'd be live last May! The video had lightning visuals and a snippet of one of her songs? I can't find any copies of that short clip though. It sounded like her solo in Park Assist - but I don't know for sure.

...Huh. Well, it's always fun to get the grand prize, but I'll be damned if I'm not the biggest on it. Since I play without car skins, it's sadly one of those I tend to avoid unless I have the time to remove the built-in-texture. The color palette is unique but it's kinda weird to look at.
Oh my god the engine sound. I can't stand it 😭 That high-pitched whirr as you gain speed and it just plays over and over...if I'm being honest it makes me want to drive cars with that engine sound even less, cause it's just such a grating noise no matter how loud I have background tunes playing.
But - I'll give it this! It looks absolutely phenoms. It's really fast! The color-changing flames, the star-shaped taillights and the little rivets and small details make this a very fun looking car. Def excited to check it out more...but maybe with the game on mute 😅
What 'chu guys think? Fun car to drive? Cool car customs potential? Same sentiment on engine sound, that which has been a long-standing gripe I have?! Tell me your experiences with the Samurai ^-^
Why do we have this spot?? I did a ramp-jump trying to chase after someone, and my car got stuck between these two rocks. Couldn't move it in any way. Just gave up the chase. What the hell bruh 😭😭
Hey folks! I'm new to NITW. I'm hosting this livedub for a server of mine, and I'm doing some light edits here and there to improve some dialogue dynamics. I did a rough test in Bea's Room, and it worked! Only problem is that I can't get the strings to go back to normal. I've reverified the game files, even tinkered with that revised tool which is found in this subreddit. But it's just...not working.
My only real solution seems to be to manually re-add the original text. I've hit "reset" a bunch - even that option to restore all of the original files. Still broken! I'm wondering if anyone has that text? Specifically lines 19>25 of BeaRoom.yarn.txt. They're talking about records and retro and stuff. I think.
TLDR; insanely specific problem - but I'm wondering if any text-savvy (haha) NITW folks here have it, or any pointers to ensure I won't break any more text strings!

Ahoy! So, every week now I've basically been priority 1 for Fresh Truck for a month and a half now. It was nice, but my pops needs the car more now and I can't just roll out in the morning cause of ride problems. Ah I ramble, but point being I can't really be taking these shifts no more cause it's putting stress on my family. (Also lowkey fuck those shifts 😭 I have to put up way more work than my coworkers and deal with line surges and they give me like 2/3 rolltainers to finish and then I gotta help them with the ice cream stuffs)
I even told my boss, "hey, I can't take these anymore" a while back. No response, just said the text was seen. And I'm set for another one friggin' tomorrow! I looked on Legion if I could change availability, and I just can't. Not until like, LATE August. I get it if it's like a few weeks, but it's practically an entire month that's just blocked with no chance to change anything. Seems like boss is raring to fire me as well, all my coworkers just seem so done with me when I ask for help with anything.
So, I have a ride dilemma and crap, and I got Fresh to work on this time tomorrow. And next week, and next week, and so on...
Hooray; I'm back for another post! Okay, well, I'm getting freakin' tired of working here if I'm being honest. I was so happy to take this job almost a year back now, hell some nights I am still damn happy to work. I pop in an earbud, get down to business on rolltainers, and practically dance the whole shift and, in my opinion, do a little better job than every one of my coworkers.
So, I'm fine right now. So like...what's the problem?
My coworkers. My manager. Also customers treating me more like I'm a part of the building than a simple Sales Associate who still fumbles at times cause it's like warfare on busy days.
Oh my god I really feel like sometimes my coworkers or whatever can make or break the mood of a shift. For one; they're all like WAY older than me, and the only other worker who's a few years older than me is very, very short-tempered and gets into fights with my boss a lot. I got some coworkers who wanna talk-the-talk but can't STAND when I reply, pushy by-the-books and a lot of times I just see the lot of them sitting up by register while I'm tending to whatever today's Rolltainer scramble has got me working on. There ARE some damn good folks there though, but hell it's a blue moon I'm scheduled with them, I feel.
Side-tangent; but holy crap this location's generally had pretty "mid" workers. I remember in the winter season, the key holder practically just sat in the back the entire shift while I did stickers/ads, and when the back was out they'd go out for a smoke break 😭
Customers felt like they've been getting a little ruder, or maybe it's just cause I'm acclimating to frequenters or wherever my mind's been drooping to in recent times. I mean, a lot are nice. But lately it feels like this town's been getting antsier with the summer heat.
Also yowch, Fresh Truck days kill me. It pisses me off we always get them as we open instead of BEFOREHAND, cause some days we come in at 6 to do fuckall, then when it's go time and when it matters most, there's customers in the way and in the line!
So, I come to you folks, who've lived and are living that Dollar General hellzone life. What do you do during these hardships? Maybe I'm just lazy, short-tempered. I kind of like the disorganized mess; I work on a few indie-esque games and pull a lot of weight, so it feels right at home. But this job's been dulling my vibe, both mentally and whimsically. Should I just suck-it-up, stop my whining and stick to my guns? Or are there grander pastures out there that I can adjust to pretty easily? Also some wicked pay disparity 'round here. I make around $15, same with my other folks I work with. Newest hire (the one only a few years older than me) makes way more than we do, I think it was like $18-19? 😭
Holy crap, it's like it's 2x harder to hit anything with it. It used to be finnicky, I know, but it seems like you have to be pinpoint. This just sucks 😭
Okay, I can't be the only one right? I'm all for this new map; it's pretty exciting stuff. But what's with some minor changes that don't really serve a right proper purpose? I'm talkin:
- Rising City's Gun Shop, why is it the building needs to be one over?
- Oil Rig's turn-in spot, why put it so close to the Military Base? What was wrong with the original spot, and even the fact there's still something of a dock by the spot doesn't help. Muscle memory throws me off every time I'm playing without paying attention.
- Crater City, at least in my opinion, didn't deserve the axe. The Bank is one of the most popular robberies ingame, and limiting it to just one severely congests it, and not in a good way. What of contracts, extra money, even more chances for cops to be the hero? Repetition, I can understand, but in removing it early or just at all, the new expansion to the map is left severely underwhelming if it only has 3-4 points of interest, while Rising has bank, jewelry, museum, power plant, cargo plane, boat, etc. The bank is a staple of the game; it just becomes packed like hell if there's only one.
What do you think? Any building change choices you're personally not-too-happy about? These are mine, at least off the top of my head. All in all, I'm a little so-so on the changes. My no-life addiction to this game has been severed a time ago, but it's fun to treat myself to it every few days.
Ahoy! Part-timer tryhard at DG here again. I kept losing my cool today during fresh truck cause lines kept forming and customers kept awkwardly reaching over me or waiting on me to move while I was busy cramming shit into the freezers. Ours arrive around 9 in the morning, and by golly there's already a rush goin' on by the time we're just getting started. It especially annoys me sometimes, as I'm here at 6 in the morning with another key holder. But those quiet hours are simply just spent finishing last night's rolltainer and then a few more if we miss any.
What time does the truck arrive at your location? And how do customer surges fare in your place?
