Between Ichika’s older sister and individual harem members, who do you think deserves most the equivalent of him giving Quagmire’s “All The Reasons I Hate You” speech to Brian?

Hot(ish) Take: I Think Deku Had Just As Much Right To Have Turned Evil As Naruto Did

It’s a common opinion in the Anime community that Naruto could have turned out evil, and we wouldn’t blame him if he did. For starters, the day Naruto was born, his parents sacrificed their lives to protect him against the demon fox Kurama who ravaged the Hidden Leaf Village, and then sealed said fox inside of him in their last dying moments. Everyone hated Naruto because of that, because they saw him as Kurama itself, and instead of supporting or comforting him throughout his childhood, they just treated him like a pariah. He was basically a ticking time bomb waiting to explode, and the only reason he didn’t was because Iruka stepped in to save him when they were facing Mizuki.

However, I don’t see a lot of people debating whether Deku would have had the right to go down the dark side (but I could be wrong about this). If we connect the dots, Midorya was born as one of the quirkless 20% of Earth’s population, and was told that he would be quirkless for the rest of his life. Everyone made fun of him for that, and Bakugo literally told him to jump off the roof of his middle school. And when he first meets All Might, the latter tells the former that he can’t be a hero without a quirk (but changes his mind and offers Midorya his own after saving Bakugo).

I think either of these moments could have been Deku’s breaking point, because let’s think about it. We haven’t had a quirkless villain in the story (yet), and I see this idea as a very unique fanfic story where Deku decides to prove everyone who’s ever doubted him wrong, maybe even joining the League of Villains after Shigaraki hears about his story and offers to give him a portion of his own quirk. Deku and Shigaraki could lead the League of Villains and win thanks to Deku’s strategy combined with Shigaraki’s cunning, but that’s just my idea. What do you guys think?

PS: I’ve yet to see Season 6 of MHA but hear that Deku goes rogue and distances himself from all of his 1A classmates and friends because he feels that he has to save everyone himself, making him delve into “anti-hero” territory, but still being a hero through and through. Do you think this point could add to my argument of an evil version of Deku?

How do you think Seryu would react if she were to hear Pain’s speech on justice (Reposted)?

I was in Copenhagen when I posted this a week ago, and it was 9AM there (3AM in New York Time), so I don’t think a lot of people were awake at that time to see this post. That, and I want to add a little more context here than I originally did.

If Seryu were to hear Pain’s Speech of Justice, how do you imagine she would react to his advice? Here, Pain tells Naruto that revenge is an endless cycle of killing and despair, and that everyone strives for their idea of justice. He points out that there are those who, for example when confronting someone who killed one of their friends or family members, confuse justice with revenge, which leads to more killing and unnecessary bloodshed.

Do you think if Pain told Seryu about the difference between justice and revenge obsession, whether she would stop to think about whether her idea of justice is going into extremes, or would she double down on her ideals and delve deeper into madness?

If you were Paul, how would you have handled Chimchar during/after the Zangoose incident?

Now, before I get crucified on this post for sharing a hot take, just hear me out for a second.

We all know by now that Paul is among the most controversial characters in all of Pokémon, especially when it comes to the way he treats Chimchar. He basically saw it as more of his own punching bag rather than a companion to be trained for battle, and it shows. I don’t think I need to remind you when Paul literally had all of his Pokemon jump Chimchar just to force it to activate Blaze at will, and even after all of his “training”, he did the unforgivable and abandoned it when it experienced PTSD during the Zangoose incident.

If I were Paul, before the incident ever even happened, I would’ve stopped to think: “What if my training methods end up backfiring on Chimchar? He’s not like any of my other Pokemon, and the only reason he activated Blaze was because he was in a life or death situation against Zangoose.” Knowing Paul, I’d still be strict with my Pokémon and do whatever it took to make them stronger, but not at the expense of their physical well being. I’d realize when enough is enough, and I’d look for new ways to train Chimchar to activate Blaze WITHOUT jeopardizing its safety, and if faced with no other choice, I would’ve just given Chimchar to Ash or Reggie instead of casting it out on the cold, empty streets like a high school senior’s parents due to them as soon as they’re 18. I’ve got options.

Those are how I would handle Chimchar during the Zangoose incident. If you were in Paul’s shoes, how would you? PS: Sorry about the lack of substance or coherence in this post. I was encountering a little writer’s block when making it.
