A peaceful day in Dinant — where the Meuse flows quietly, cliffs rise beautifully, and every corner feels like a postcard from Belgium.
Visited Dinant as a one-day trip from Brussels and honestly it was worth it.
I took the train from Brussels to Dinant, which cost around €23 return, and the town is very walkable from the station.
I first saw the beautiful Notre-Dame de Dinant by the river, then crossed the Charles de Gaulle Bridge with all the colorful saxophones, since Dinant is the birthplace of Adolphe Sax.
The best part was going up to the Citadel, which cost €15 and gives an amazing view of the Meuse River, the town, and the cliffs.
I also did the short river cruise, which was €13, and it was a relaxing way to see Dinant from the water.
With some snacks/food, the total cost came to around €60–65 for the day.
It is a small place, but the river, cliffs, Citadel, cathedral, saxophone bridge, and peaceful streets make it a really nice and easy day trip from Brussels.
