Over the last few weeks I’ve been using the MF as a kind of splashy accent device to provide some punchy lines that enhance or amplify an underlying line. For this project, I captured some really fun lines from Decerf’s “Surrounding Seas” and paired the crescendos with a seven-step Modal sequence on the MF. The MF is running through a pedal and I’m trying to play with decay on the biggest crescendos of the flute lines.

I’ve been experimenting with some BPMs that make me kind of uncomfortable! It’s been a good practice in thinking about structure at scale and I need to explore more. I tend to work around 85-105 so this was a great experience.

Would love some tips from folks who work at this BPM, especially for longer tracks!

I really love how the FM synthesis of the Model:Cycles plays with the resonance of the MicroFreak. Are there other folks here who use this combo?

First time building a track with the song mode on Blackbox. Amy other BB users here? I’d love to hear your advanced tips and workarounds…

Been having a lot of fun exploring the blackbox after having it for about a month or so. Not sure if there are other users here, but I find the simplicity really helpful as a new learner.

There is so little out there in terms of tutorials, save for two or three, including 1010’s own tutorial series, itself very simple. If anyone has any intermediate or advanced tips, that’d be great. Sort of wondering how creative people are getting with this thing, especially for budget setups.

I’ve had the MF for about three weeks now and I’ve been learning how to program melodies with the step sequencer. I find this device really inspirational!

It’s paired really well with the Model:Cycles so far, so have been testing with other devices.
